That’s pretty nifty, wonder if there’s something similar that can be bought as an adjustable retention system. I’ve been considering an 1152 build as I just sold my pickup 😋
I’m running a PA400ST intercom with 4 avcomm headsets. Works pretty great overall and runs on 9-33V. Working on a way to give the gunner seat its own intercom control with a push to talk.
I’ve hooked the radio output of the intercom to a cheap baofeng radio, so anyone in the truck can talk to...
Same thing happened on a 400A I had on an 1151, replaced it with a 200. I tried finding the parts for a 400 but good luck with that, 200s are much more plentiful heh
Also, just painted another truck interior with Rapco 383.
Harbor freight $15 HVLP gun
5 parts paint to 1 part xylene ratio
Sprayed very nice and evenly, very happy with the coverage.
Awesome, what’d you use to replicate the measurements and how did you cut it out? Your setup looks slightly bulkier than mine, I had to keep weight in mind with my older style turret bearing.
Don’t think I ever posted pics of my finished one either.
I basically copied it off an existing steel...
Yea it was very apparent on mine. Open the hood and rev the engine with your hand on the injection pump throttle lever, you’ll find out pretty quick if it’s the alt.
Oh man I can’t even complain about the 200s, the 400s really suck. You can’t get the fuel filter out, you can barely reach glow plugs and injectors, they start eating through the body harness after a while, and I personally don’t know anyone who needs an alternator that makes 10Kw lol.
Maybe...
Yours looks like the non-knockout style. It fits in a standard windshield frame, though I don’t know how warm and fuzzy I feel about using the standard thin retainers that go around the front for non armored windows. The standard size windshield gasket also fits around the metal lip around it...
Alright that's good to know, I was figuring that at least someone somewhere was putting these on in hopes that people bid crazy amounts simply because the truck has windshields, same way they lose their minds when they see "150 miles" on the odo.
I spoke to guy a few months back who had won a...
Hey all,
Scrolling through listings on govplanet, I'm seeing that some turbo trucks that very clearly had armored windshield now have regular windshields. These don't look old and ratty either, it looks like they were freshly installed windshields and retainers, right after the demil process...
Nothing like watching paint dry.
Paint codes for the curious:
Rapco 383 Green
Rapco 911 Flat Black
Rapco Red Oxide Zinc Phosphate Primer
Will throw these on tomorrow and see how they look, it’s bizarre how gently you handle things after painting 🤔
Might throw some pattern on the shield but...
Finished up my aluminum gun shield, just needs to be painted now. Definitely half of the weight of the steel one if not less. I made the pintle attachment arm from steel for strength but the entire shield piece is aluminum.
Will see what the wobble is like when driving, the bearing is much...
