    New To Me 1994 M998A1

Congrats on the HMMWV. If you swapped boxes hot, or were victim to old tech, then you probably killed the glow plugs. There might be a couple of other things to check and test as well. The flash / no start has a lot of threads, keep searching. The basic is a grounding harness, did you...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Those welds look familiar. I just did the same thing!

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Forgive the ignorance but that's two a side up front and 1 a side in the rear radius rods, for the 6 total, correct? Got the boots and the puller on the way, thanks for the tip. And I still have 2 news rods just in case they don't pass.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Tie Rod dust boots? I unsuccessfully tried to ask / find about the spec on these, where did you get them? I ended up with the whole rod. I installed my new Four Seasons blower motor and new squirrel cage. My old motor sucked! It was super loud, all I can hear with this one is the air, not...

    CTIS and Arduino

Oh boy. 74m and I had done some similar work on this (mine on the various 5-ton versions) about a year and a half ago, and both put the project down before finishing. He was just interfacing the ECU to a computer for settings, and I was building a monitor for a working system off The CAN...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Yup. $35 plus shipping for the aftermarket ones (Four Seasons 35552) is cheapest, some on there for like $80, supposedly these are way quieter. I finally got the motor separated, but totally blew out the squirrel cage. Luckily the auction site had one of those too. I took the fan apart and...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Zombie post! I unsuccessfully tried to get mine off today. My motor is just noisy as all get out, and I suspect it's just like everyone else's, but I wanted to isolate it from the cage and hear it by itself before condemning it. This method was perfect except that I can't get the squirrel...

Adding turn signal wiring to headlight housing

Most of these are multi-volt. 10v-30v. But check the specs first. My lights didn’t come with an anti flicker or voltage reducers, they were straight hookups (well i soldered on Packard connectors)m and the pigtails they included were actually wrong for the ends they provided (not the blades)...

Adding turn signal wiring to headlight housing

I just did this (added the turn signal with headlights), but was planning on still running the original signals as well. It might be a problem with the headlights that I bought, but when I hooked it up (properly too I might add) I ended up blowing a circuit in the lights, and the main halo...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Agreed, it's not CREE's fault, as I stated a couple of times, it's just how they are being sold in the search description.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Well, I cracked it open. I ended up just cutting the wire for the blinker (to the halo), then removing the other wires not needed. Bench tested and they work as I want. No components looked obviously blown. Siliconed them back up and we'll see how they hold up. Its a pure test at this moment...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Yup, blinker is in series as well, so the normal blinker works too. I think the "halo" blinking is also a safety feature. I'm good with it. These are definitely multi volts. 10-30v. The CREE website lists the LED as the component, I think they are just a part of the whole headlights. So...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I unsuccessfully installed cheap LED halo headlights. Issue 1 - they didn't fit the bucket, had to grind down the housing of the lamp. It was easy, but annoying. Issue 2 - hooked up the lights, they look great. they all seem to come with blinkers, so I hooked it up. It was amber and...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Remember that line in Jurassic park? (park security) - How many time have I told you we need to install locking mechanisms in the car?!! So someone left a note in my truck. It might have been honest enough, but it was sort of this "hey, tell me where I can get one of these, xxxxx, phone...

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Well, we did labor day MKT festivities. Had some snags (not with MKT though). We were not going to let life ruin the cooking! Our bakery got broken into, by a masked hoodie, bandana wearing, maggot, that threw a rock through the door. Glass everywhere, and we had to board it back up. delay...

    glow plug info

Replacing as a set is a debated subject. Here's what I've found: Replacing as a set sets the clock, so mean time to fail is known. If they are reaching their useful life, some are not far behind. Ease of the job. Do them all once, and done. Piece of mind. Unknown grounding or potential...

Glad to see it earning its keep! Keep em coming. We love to see these guys work. Did customs make you pay tax on sale price or calculated value?

What have you done to your MKT this week???

Seriously. No one has done anything since March? I am planning a fall deployment of mine to do a day of cooking. GIANT blueberry pancakes for breakfast. I use a pizza peel (seriously look it up) to flip mine. The wife LOVES them, or banana pancakes. I REALLY want to do Benihana or...
