GREAT advice on Ohming them out. Mine started right up, but 1 plug was dead. I was lucky and didn't need the puller for my dead one, but again, solid advice on the removal tool. If you are going to pull more than one, just get the tool.
I know I am a little late, but congrats, eh. Those ugly tops only a mother / MV owner could love. Some ROPS owners are as vehemently opposed to the normal tops. Seriously, nice vehicle. 22H is a good recovery! How's your butt? Did it give you any hassle? Did you do it in 2 or 3 days...
That flat black paint looks great. I am at that same stage. Doing tie rod ends and probably ball joints (I had gotten just boots, but got a deal on the ball joints, and if there was any sand in there its just not worth trying to get another 6 month out of them only to fail, SOO...
Paint is...
I was doing the zerks today on the HMMWV and found that both of the steering tie rod end boots (ones closer to center) were torn on both. It seems these are a whole package on Epay / Kascar. Does anyone have a cross part number for these? If the boots are torn, are the ends replaced in whole...
Yup, I think I mistyped my intention. I am totally doing my own change outs. Ripping them apart next week, and have two sizes of o-rings, but I am sure it will be a surprise on which one. But will definitely need a professional balance. I am in the Denver area, so anything within 45 min will...
So no trick with run flat balancing? I am about to put new shoes on, and swap rims, so will need the skinny... Is there a special machine to request, or do the modern tire shops know how to deal with run flats?
Picked up some new Baja's from Wes, and had grabbed two spare wheels and tires (I needed spares anyway) a week ago, so I can slowly work on the new tires without being on blocks and jack stands just in case I didn't get the right o-ring or something, and it's left for a day or more. It's on the...
Ok, so the new hinges worked perfect.
They were shifted ever so slightly over. New ones on top, old ones on bottom.
New ones on left, old ones on right. See that the rights ones were too much into the center, so they bound.
SOLVED!
I will take some better picts, it's super obvious that they will never fit. The round part is about 1/3 of the way into the center. Definitely not the washers, even with no washers it still hits. The top is the worst, it sits on the metal bar. I think these are just duds, or the soft doors...
I just got some X doors from 86humv, and the fronts went on perfect, except the spacer for the 2 click, which is coming. The rears however are not even close to fitting, in fact, I can't even get them on. They seem to hit the edge of the square bar of the hinge, not even the screwhead. I even...
Would love to know the guts of what the issue was. I was lucky and had Jon walk me through a non-eventful fill of 407c. Will rocks too. I do light refrigeration stuff at my bakery so it's always helpful to walk it through. Once you get it running, be prepared for the ice cubes it puts out...
For London, get the little guy. A deuce will be HUGE on the streets, and check into the congestion charges. I BET it will be more since it's a "big" commercial vehicle for London. The 5-ton is a big animal. It might also be against the law to park in some communities. If you were outside...
Saw that one. They treated that poor HMMWV like a mule. Fluids leaking out, and no maintenance seen before they took it out and the obligatory new wheels from the sponsor. Time to read up.
Yeah, warning, warning, you need a title. Don't budge without it, not even if he discounts it. Hopefully you searched around on here, there are recovery threads, which this might be. It's a list of things to check for. With any vehicle, you need to check everything. Check fluids, tires...
Geez. That is REALLY cool. Its interesting to see the how varied the different other hobbies HMMWV owners have. That lift you showed is pretty awesome. It defies gravity!
I was going to check into roll bar options too. Someone posted those HMMWV test videos where they dragged it behind a...
