I believe the working pressure for a deuce is 120 PSI. The advertisement states the nylon lines are rated at 220 PSI. I think this should be within the pressure window. Your thoughts?
Due to multiple failures in my copper air lines, I have been thinking about replacing copper with plastic (nylon?). Will the existing air line nuts work with a plastic or nylon air line (see pic below)? I see that with the copper, you only need the ferrule that slides over the line. I think...
This is GENIUS! I never used (or built) a pressure bleeder before, so I see my work is cut out for me. Can you point to the TM that has the directions for bleeding the brake system? From what everybody says, you have to bleed the airpack first, then onto the wheel cylinders.... Your thoughts???
Where did your source your remote reservoir kit? I want to add one to my truck, but I am not sure which one to get. There are hundreds on the net, and I suppose they all work the same so I guess it is a matter of preference. What do you recommend? As for a pressure bleeder, I have never...
My deuce seems to have a single system, as I have only one set of air tanks and only one air-hydraulic booster. I finally found the SMI 9-2320-209-14&P manual. As I was reading it, I noticed that it is missing page 1-2. I have found this manual in other places and they too are missing page...
Big shout out to Gary Dunn.... Gary moved my deuce from Porum, OK to my home in Grove, OK. He is SUPER NICE guy who is professional, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. He quickly got the truck onto his trailer, moved it, and unloaded it at my home.
My son and I met Gary in Porum a...
TM 9-2320-209-34P, Group 03 - Fuel System. I was able to find the part numbers for the original components, but they don't cross to civilian parts. For example: Fuel Filters - NSN 2910-01-120-2182, Mfg # 11610298 will show up on a google search, but I cannot determine a way to cross reference...
UPDATE: My son and I replaced the fuel filters on my truck today. It took 2.5 hours to get from our home to the truck, but it was worth it. I got the filters from O'Reilly's and they fit perfectly. When the filters were removed, we had to clean out the canisters. They were filled with...
I located the tag riveted to the block under the exhaust manifold, but any information that was on it has long since faded away. I saw some cast numbers below the tag, but the block is so oily I cannot see the casting info clearly. I think I saw the firing order in the cast numbers. I will...
Thank you for your response. I searched all over this truck and couldn't locate a remote fluid reservoir. I have read other posts of folks putting the remote reservoir behind the drivers seat. I was hoping to find that on my truck, but no success. Once I get it home, I will go over these...
Thank you for your quick reply! I have been pouring over the TM's and had no success in finding the part numbers and diagrams for these three filters. I assumed they were held on by through-bolts but nothing I could find in the TM's discuss this. I imagine the bolts are 5/8 or 9/16. Well...
Tomorrow, my son and I are going to try to replace the Primary and Secondary Fuel Filters on my "Newly Acquired" deuce. Eventually, I will swap these canister style filters for the spin-on system, but it won't be any time soon.
So... I am wondering how you folks are unscrewing the...
Pump ordered! Won't get it for a while, but that's OK. It looks like I will have to build a bracket to mount it to my truck. Yes, another project! Thank you for your help. I will get my truck running right as rain before too long...
Thank you for searching on my behalf! I will check ebay shortly to see if I can find these. I have been wondering about fuel line. It seems my deuce is using copper pipe in some places and clear plastic tubing in other places. I think previous owners have added/modified a significant portion...
I looked again at the Eastern Surplus pump. It is listed at $399.00, but I also noticed a $125.00 Core Fee. Since I don't have a core, the new price is $525.00 + shipping. I think I will have to go with an external lift pump such as the FRB-23-2 for less than half of the Eastern Surplus pump...
I have seriously considered adding a tow bar to my tool list. Unfortunately, I don't have a truck large enough to tow a deuce. All I have is my M1008 and M1009, which I don't think either would do the job. A tow bar might be less expensive than hiring someone or a company to move my truck...
Thank you for letting me know where that darn Primary filter is located. Based on the diagram I used, I was looking under the truck near the bumper. I feel like an idiot. As I was looking for it, I thought "Nobody would put a fuel filter here" and they didn't, which is why I couldn't find it...
Sal... I will try to call tomorrow (8 SEP) on my way back to Oklahoma. It will probable be in the afternoon. Thank you for your reply!
Peace in Christ...
