    M1152A1 X Door latch

What he said, those are for the rear doors. You should NOT need to drill holes or modify your truck.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Theres a chicken shield drawing floating around the internet, I used that but had to modify it to work with my setup. My clearances are different because I dont have an actual turret and I'm running a short riser, so I had to make my shield a few inches shorter. My shield is made from 1/4...

What am I doing wrong? Why does my ignition start switch handle not line up?

I would not buy hmmwv parts from ebay, buy from a reputable source such as mac motors.

    New to me 998!

Thats the best case scenario. Hit the right bump or god forbid a rollover and lets hope you get out before your humvee is a pile of ashes.

Made some progress on the chicken shield

Can I mount soft doors on my slant back?

The newer ones (ECV's and REV's, such as my m1151) will accept standard soft doors as well as standard x doors. This is because all of the armor has been removed. If the armor was still installed they would need straight x doors (and soft doors would not work). Edit: There is one caveat. The...

Can I mount soft doors on my slant back?

Yes. The strikers are different from hard doors to soft doors, but you shouldn't have any issues besides that.

I'm amazed you can hear a shackle rattling over the sound of a detroit diesel.

    M1165A1 high RPM at 55mph

Yep thats typically how I do it in normal vehicles, just didnt know if the humvee was different. Back when I had a 6.2/3 speed I remember people warning about "overspinning" the engine.

    M1165A1 high RPM at 55mph

What are your thoughts on downshifting while driving down a mountain road? Okay to shift into 3rd to save the brakes? Asking specifically for an ECV truck.

    M1165A1 high RPM at 55mph

Great thought. Either way, it seems like a good idea to verify that the tach is accurate before doing anything else.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Started fabricating a mount for an armor plate I'm about to make. I had to weld the mounting flange on my UPA because it didn't have one. I'm on track to have a turret(ish) and armor plate for less than a grand. Thanks to @BLK HMMWV for the dimensions. @jake20 what angle did you use to...

    Hood hook seals

Mine are a little bit off, even after replacing them. You get used to it lol.

    GovPlanet Bizarre Truck Configuration

I've noticed for awhile that the trucks in Georgia have windshields with the old style retainers, theyve been doing that for at least a year. They also include the roof armor, while the ones in Yermo do not. Who knows the reasoning.

    Air conditioning

Well technically you are supposed to recover any remaining refrigerant before disconnecting any hoses.

    Air conditioning

Sure, it can get complicated. But in my experience many problems come down to leaks. If you can get good at finding and repairing leaks, and then properly recharging, its a good foundation for fixing many issues.
