Well, I got tired of borrowing the neighbor's forklift to raise the cab or lift stuff, so I built a little davit to attach to the roll bar. I made the boom portion able to swing 180°, so with any luck I can use this to lift and install the FOPS as well.
I got the end of the Hydraulic cylinder...
Rev 2 of the brackets have been made. They fit fine on my FLU, but I am looking for a person willing to test fit them on theirs to verify fitment on more than just 1. I will give you welded ones for the unwelded price, $60 shipped. You will need to remove your loader, unbolt the front cab...
Took the Valve cover off and discovered three of the 6 bolts holding injector lines to the injectors are missing.
Also pulled the cover off the trans and got to see the damage there. Anybody that has had these apart before care to speculate how the cover got damaged without visible damage to...
Here was Gov Planet's photo:
And here is my photo of the trans.
Thanks to the ever-present forklift damage on surplus vehicles, the bolt holding my front Hydraulic pump on was damaged. It is a M20x170 1.50 pitch. This was nearly impossible for me to find, but I did find it in my employer's...
I have access to the Case drawings for the backhoe, so I was able to look up the specs for my missing Stabilizer cylinder. It was a 33.82" closed, 21.77" stroke 4" bore, 2" rod and 1.5" pins. I found this cylinder on surpluscenter.com...
This thread is perhaps a little delayed as I have had this truck for several months. I have been saving money and acquiring parts to tear into it.
Purchased from Gov Planet from Ft Bragg. Could see in the photos that it was missing some pieces, but not quite the extent. Delivered by their...
Based on photos and dimensions in previous threads, I am making a pair of cab tilt brackets for my FLU419. As you can see, I got an extra batch of parts made. Once I make mine to verify fitment and function, is there anyone else that would like a pair? I estimate $60 for laser cut parts and...
You can buy a tool called a nut splitter or nut cracker. It forces a point like a cold chisel into the nut. One split from each side and the nut falls off. Run a thread chaser over the carriage bolt and it is ready to rust up all over again. That said, I used a cut-off disk on an angle...
That is the LH and I need the RH. I actually work for Case, so I downloaded all of the Case parts lists(matches the PN in the TM's) Based on that PN, yes it is easy to find a salvage yard with a used one The difference LH to RH is just angle of the ports.
I got my SEE home. On the plus side, it arrived with the Hood, Engine cover, and FOPS. On the down side, it needs a large number of little parts in addition to the top portion of the trans, a starter, and a stabilizer lift cylinder. I've been reading the manuals and the parts manuals to...
I just won 1FG999996HM450268 on Gov planet. Hope to have it moved to New Holland, PA soon so I can figure out what all it will need.
To assist my load-out, would anyone know what the height is with the backhoe up as pictured? Can it be lowered back down by simply removing the holding straps...
I have a friend that works in an aftermarket lubricant and additives company. He was telling me that too much antigel can make fuel more likely to gel. I will have to talk to him and try to get more specifics.
Might check elsewhere in the forum for answers to your questions. There is a seal under the bolt, and a seal between the can and the block. the fiber seal between the can and the block should be replaced at oil changes.
Just for kicks, I looked at the US inflation rate calculator: http://inflationdata.com/Inflation/Inflation_Calculators/Inflation_Rate_Calculator.asp
$20K in 1999 would be equivalent to $28K today
And if $20K were invested in the S&P 500 in 1999, it would be $30423(Again corrected for inflation)...
Here is a Russian MI-26 here in Brugge, BE. Largest Helicopter in the world. The only thing to give sense of the scale is the cockpit windows. They have one visible now, but on google maps, you can see they had three: (https://www.google.be/maps/place/51%C2%B013%2746.0%22N+3%C2%B013%2706.0%22E)...
So I haven't posted on here in quite some time and this post may be an example of "late is not better than never". My company sent me to Belgium for the last year. I have been living in Brugge since January and am now prepping to move back to PA. Its too late for me to ask for suggestions of...
Here is my first oil sample.
The question mark on your sample is the lucas oil additive. You don't know if it could be contributing some of the abnormal elements. According to their MSDS, it contains phosporous and sulfur.
The CUCV's have separate alternators for each battery. If you try to tap a single battery on the deuce with a load of any significance, you will kill the battery in less than 6 months.
