Thanks for the info. I am not going to the GA rally, but if someone could pick them up from Herlong and get them to Georgia, I would be happy to chip in on fuel. I contacted the fellow from Reno in the other thread to see if he can retrieve them from base.
I won 2 lots of wheels and tires at Herlong, CA last week. Total weight estimated at 2800lbs on 3 pallets. If someone is local and goes there on a regular basis, can you confirm what the process is? I am hearing that a permit to get on base must be applied for 7 days ahead of time, but the...
Yeah, the Dana 80 will be strong enough for you. The Dana 80 runs a 35 spline 1.5" axleshaft while the 2.5T Rockwell runs a 16 spline 1.56" shaft(Your GM 2.5T axle is 1.75" according to the interwebs). The 16 splines in the in the Rockwell is weaker than the 35 in the Dana, but guys put 1600's...
I bought the equivalent Dewalt 20V brushless. I see no need for a heavy pneumatic impact or hoses any more. I was pulling some tie-rods at the salvage yard and could not get the cotter pins out. The cordless impact just sheared them off. Incredible.
I registered mine as Antique in PA. I showed the title place the photos and that was a mistake because they started freaking out. I was able to calm them down and point out the state form does not require photos. It sailed through as a 198* Freightliner.
The weight of the trailer is going to be on the dolly and the trailer tires. Your truck will not receive any weight transfer to make its brakes more effective. The trailer weight will transfer off the rear tires under braking. You are asking for a skid.
Saw this and thought of you guys. a 1 year lifespan passive monitor. Just have to check it.

Just remember, carbon monoxide is odorless by itself. SO don't rely on the smell of exhaust to be a warning. But it might be the only warning you get. If you smell it, get ventilation.
Coasting with the clutch pressed in is a bad habit as well. With the low gearing of the mog, the flywheel is overdriven in the lower gears and you can end up spinning the flywheel faster than designed. The flywheel can fly apart.
Did you check the parts manual?
Figure 236 shows it to be NSN 5340-01-270-7268 which is a Parker-Hannifin Corporation part number 254000.
The entire valve is 981119, of which one sold on a major auction site for $75 recently.
The parts are out there on your side of the ocean.:

I saw a frontloader not long ago, I think it was on Machino.com
Here's my take. If you have to start an engine just for a bit, it is still better to shut it off after it is done than to let it sit there and idle. I.E. if you just have to start your 929 for 30 seconds to raise the bed, letting it idle is not going to undo the tiny amount of wear from the 30...
I completely agree. That winch will pull hundreds of amps.
I guess I should have said if you are using the winch for more than a minute, the equalizer won't be enough to keep up.
At work we use Surepower battery equalizers. They equalizer the 12V voltage on one battery at 10amps. So you would put this on the 24V side, then hook your winch to one battery. When the winch is used and draws one battery down so they are unequal, the equalizer will bring the low one up at a...
