It was Vintage military trucks. Lot of the trucks look rough, but if it's not far from you, might be able to get in there and take a gander, maybe even do some wheelin' and dealin' to get what you want for a good price, idk, maybe not.
Have you ever googled M35's for sale? If I recall, there's a guy down there in Texas who has a whole yard full of them. They aren't pretty but the prices didn't seem bad either. I was gonna buy one from him but then I decided not too because Texas was too far for me and if I went, I wasn't gonna...
Nothing wrong with having expectations. That why it's always a good idea to look at a few before you buy. The windows and the seals around the cab are more times than not rusty and leak which leads to more rust.
Got the flame heater deleted. However, I forgot about a 1/4" plug for the return line 🤦
At least I got the thing off and the new plugs in (Thanks to Gypsyman) and I got that T out of the fuel line from the injectors. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some fluids changed and checked, then it should be...
Seems like a decent truck. If you buy it, I agree with HDN, not knowing exactly what that wobbling is could prove to be either series or minor, but better safe than sorry. If you do drive it, maybe take all the back roads and take it slow. Bring some tools and and some water at least just in...
Since this will be my first time for a SS rally, y'all usually meet together or park together in the same area or does everybody kind of just do their own thing?
If it's a head gasket causing the knock, then it's do to coolant getting in the cylinder. If it's burning white smoke and/or your coolant is disappearing but no coolant leaks, that's a good indication. Might not be a bad idea to check the crank bearings on that cylinder and the rod, won't hurt...
Sweet truck! Also, welcome to the site! I think Mullaney definitely pointed you in the right direction. One thing is for sure, we like pictures, which you didn't disappoint! Lol. Enjoy your new to you truck!!
I did find this video. While it's not a plow video, does show the mounting system it has. Not a solution to how it raises and lowers, but I did request that he would do a video going over the mounting system and how it operated. We will see if that comes out or not.
I've had both. The only thing I like about the hard top is the back panel with the sliding window. Much easier to open and close one handed vs the zippered window on the soft top. For noise, couldn't tell ya, I wear ear muffs, lol. For seasonal in use, both work great. In MI we get a lot of snow...
Thanks! Honestly, I never carried a fire extinguisher in my old deuce, never seen or realized the need for one. I wondered what would I do if I did have a fire, and I do believe this was after I saw a car on fire on the side of the road last summer. Figured I should get a fire extinguisher just...
Lot of it is the wording. I just tell them what they want to hear. Stored at or around the house, no off roading, no rallies, no hauling loads of anything beyond some dust that collected on it, ect. Insurance companies can be pretty shady at times. They won't tell you everything up front but...
That is weird... I've never popped the clutch, always eased it, but I've never heard that from my deuce before. It could be like what Mullaney said, if you popping the clutch quickly, it could be coming up and hitting the floor board due to that rubber biscuit being rotted away. One way to test...
I did start up the deuce today. Drove it around the block. I waited until I had new fire extinguishers first just in case, but everything went fine. No brake issues, no electrical issues and everything worked as normal. I'll get everything fixed, change out fuel filters, change oil and filters...
Fully agree. I ordered 3 more fire extinguishers, one 5lb and two 2.5 lb so I can keep one in the cab, one in my tool box, and one in the back. What I learned the other day, you can't go overkill when it comes to fire protection. Imo, not only for myself, but also in case if I see someone else...
I just want to say thank you to everyone for sharing your concerns. I mostly wanted to bring a few things into light. One: have a fire extinguisher and if you do, I would go with a 5lb or one that has 5lbs of agent. The one I had was 2.5lbs and while it did work, if I didn't have the water, I'd...
