    Glow plug cycle explained.

The volt meter is a good reference. If they don't cycle more than 2 or 3 times after the engine is running all should be good.

    thinking of swapping to gas

Where is the oil leaking from the head at ? Was the 700r4 swapped in from a diesel or a gas truck ? Different torque converter is right. Also make sure the TV cable is set properly and has the correct geometry. SBC and 6.2 has the same bell housing pattern. Probably have to use cat...

    M1009 rear axle play

I would put some new rear wheel bearings in it. If you pull the axles and they are damaged you can get offset bearings that fit the bearing at an undamaged area of the axle. And the seal is built into the bearing. I've used them before on an old Camaro and a civi 82 K-10 truck I have. Both of...

    Glow plug cycle explained.

Sounds normal to me. Glow plug cycle after the engine is running is an effort to reduce exhaust emissions from a cold engine.

    Wright Patterson Recovery

My thought exactly. If you don't need it and want to sell it I have a M1031 that is missing it.

    Fort drum gl auctions

I have a couple of M101 trailers I just got a PIF invoice for. Hector would be a lot closer for me to pick them up than Ft. Drum.

    Radiators

Yes they are. I got lucky and found an almost new one at a swap meet for $30.00. One thing I know is the 1982 civi trucks with the 6.2 used different fittings for the oil cooler in the radiator. Not sure about 1983. As long as you match up the year you should be ok.

    Radiators

I'd ask the seller on e-bay how many rows (cores) the radiator has. If it has 3 and you don't tow a lot or load real heavy on hot days I think you would be alright. If it has 4 it should be a direct replacement. Good luck

    Radiators

GM72K10 thanks for backing me up so quick.

    Radiators

Fit is the same. My friends M1009 had fewer rows. I think it was 2 or 3 rows instead of 4. It was a GL truck that we recovered and it had what looked like the original radiator. It was all rotten and leaking. I remember it had a much thinner core. Maybe just a fluke.

Look for the glass plunger inside the IP return fitting

Yes I double checked before I originaly replyed because of the Avitar. He really didn't say what he was working on. I second the spin on filter(s). I just got done changing the filter to Injector Pump hose on one of my CUCV's. The truck was getting air in the fuel system so the other day I...

Look for the glass plunger inside the IP return fitting

It is pretty clear when it is clean if you were pushing on something inside the return line check valve it should be the clear ball. If the truck runs with the return check valve removed I would install the check valve but not the hose and try it. If it doesn run then the check valve is still...

Look for the glass plunger inside the IP return fitting

It's clear so its hard to see. I usually use carb cleaner with a nozzle to clean it out good it is spring loaded. Push it down and spray. You could try starting it with the return fitting out. I will leak fuel but should start right up. Good luck. What year is the truck ?
