Apparently the proper Energy Suspension part number is 3.1116 which are the gas engine mounts, but which were used in CUCV's for some reason. Summit makes a very good knock off of these for $20/each. I'm gonna give 'em a whirl.
And thanks for the tip on the rubber line, will need to replace...
Were you having a similar issue with the fuel line rubbing?
I've heard parts store replacement motor mounts just aren't up to the task these days, being cheaply made offshore and all.
Also I'm assuming this would be a good time to just replace the lift pump anyway with the engine jacked up a...
Sorry I know this is old, but I was researching a lift pump area leak and it lead me here. I had a leak coming from my lift pump, which really appeared to me to be coming from the rubber line and not the pump itself, because when I tightened the hose clamp and moved the hose a little, the leak...
Probably not going to be sufficient to correct for 35's then. I'm OK with changing out the speedo gears themselves it's just such a complicated soup of gear options I was hoping someone could provide some clarity on which would be appropriate for my tire/axle combo.
Not a huge priority either...
It might be the other way around, I honestly can't remember. I've driven the truck 1/2 mile since I've owned it.
I'll have to get under and take another look for the reduction box.
Where did you find the appropriate reduction box?
Guys I have 35" tires and stock 3.08's on my M1009. Yeah it sucks but a gear swap ain't happening anytime soon.
Can anyone tell me what speedometer gear for the NP208 I need to correct the speedometer? Right now I think it reads too fast, meaning it says I'm doing 50 when I'm really doing like...
I am changing everything mentioned with the exception of the hardlines from the proportioning valve back. Unless I find a leak. They look remarkably clean and rust free so far. As stated, brake parts are cheap. I'll report back on my results.
Good advice. Everything in the front end is getting replaced, I will do my best at flushing, replacing with DOT5 and bleeding. Then I’ll see what the rears look like.
I was mainly curious about the proportioning valve and if I “tripped” it because I’d rather not mess with that. Seems like boiled...
Found a pinhole leak in the hydroboost line, what I assume is a low pressure line?
Not too sure if that would cause a pedal to sink. Brake fluid is an entirely different circuit. Either way this must now be repaired as well.
My M1009 appears to have been sitting for some time when I got my hands on it. Before I tore into it, I took it for a short (1/2 mile) shakedown run and quickly realized I had a caliper sticking (driver front). Got hot to the point of smoke rolling out and me being unable to touch anything...
Man this thing is a turd with the 3.08's though. Gonna get old fast. If doing the front end and other maintenance doesn't drain my slush fund, I may have to spring for gears sooner than planned. Not planning any serious off roading. Occasional fishing and beach trips, some power line trials now...
