. Everybody has an opinion, but a little RTV to hold the gasket in place while you put on whatever pan (valve cover, timing cover, water pump, etc) in position REALLY is a way to hold gaskets so they don't slip. At least that is my opinion...

. Yessir, and the muffler that was on it looked a lot like the old Thrush muffler. The boxes they came in over at the local Ace Speed Shop here on Independence Boulevard had the blue and magenta logo on them. Pretty cool stuff back in the day...

. Everybody has an opinion, but I would you think that you will be happier if you get that connector fixed. Butt connectors work, but a little testing with a meter before you hack up your wiring.

. Agree with @NDT . Draining and looking at the gear oil would be good. If it really was "slippage", the higher gears would (should?) might show clutch slippage. Don't really think you need to try to wash out the internals on the gearboxes... IMO

. Chances are that truck had a radio shack on the back. Had to have that pintle extension to get out from under that "box".

. Guessing you already own a tractor with a bush-hog attached? Finding a trailer shouldn't be too bad. There are a couple in the "Classifieds" section here. Need to figure out how long a trailer you might need.

. After you get that connector as clean as you can - note that corrosion that @kloppk mentioned - use a little Anti-Oxidation Paste to ward off future corrosion. While you are cleaning, use some electrical contact cleaner too.

. Do you see - Or can you find any sort of metal plate on it with more information? If you can find some sort of tag chances are we can help you find some info.
