Smart move by not trying to drive it yet. I have always gone thru the entire brake system and when in doubt, replace,replace,replace. Don't risk it to save a couple bucks.

I have several MVs along with a M1008. The M1008 is by far the easiest to fix. Although the big trucks are dead bang simple, everything is giant sized whereas the M1008 is equally simple but normal sized parts makes repairs much easier.

Almost 5 years...she's finally done. I finally put the finishing touches on my wrecker. Gun ring and convoy lights. Almost 5 years of sanding. Scraping, wrenching.

I have a cab reinforcement plate. I didn't install it because the crane engage lever would be blocked and unable to operate. The lever is behind the driver's seat in the corner of the cab. I'll post some pics of my install and mods later today.

Which model 5 ton are you talking about? 800 series or 900?

My results are mixed but mostly poor in nature. My robo wouldn't break some lug nuts off either. It took a breaker bar and pipe to pop them loose. Tightening didn't seem to be a problem. I haven't sold mine yet but have been contemplating letting her go.

Gang, My company is sponsoring a car show and Military Vehicle display as an SPCA fundraiser. There will be a registration fee for cars/trucks but not for MVs. This is the first time I'm putting on a car show and hope to have a good enough turnout that we can do this annually. I'll have more...

Gang, I contacted Greg @ www.dataplates.net and he found the order with all the data plates he made for my wrecker. It's almost 100% complete except for some winch data plates which I didn't need to remove and replace. Feel free to contact Greg if interested in purchasing the data plates.

Added an in-cab rifle mount I had this NOS rifle mount so i decided to add it to my wrecker build. I'm very happy with the result.
