Any luck coming up with something to put on the barrel clamp other then the heat shrink tubing? I'm getting ready to install my gun ring and have a freshly parkerized 1919 I don't want to muck up when using the barrel clamp.

You'll find that most folks on this site are diy's. Post your problem, or better yet, do a search and you may your answers here and save yourself a few bucks. The money you save may buy you another MV.
The hard top was in pretty bad shape especially at the mounting flange (lots of rust). Also, with the gun ring, I thought it better to go with the rag top.
Got more done on the wrecker these past
few weekends. I stenciled the truck, installed the interior, installed the Vic-1, and installed the NOS canvas cab cover. Gun ring is about all that's left.
