    Valve next to radiator

If it is brass then it is probably the oil sampling valve. Not all of them had it. It should connect to the oil cooler line.

    WTF!? Freeze plugs popping out.

That would explain it. I have a GPW engine that I have to rebuild but I have not had time to take it apart yet. I will have to take a look.

    WTF!? Freeze plugs popping out.

I have never seen ridges in any of the engines I have built. This is why one must be careful not to accidentally drop the plug in the water jacket when removing them and you must only tap them in. If you pound them in they will go right through into the water jacket. I have rebuilt various...

    WTF!? Freeze plugs popping out.

I have built engines since the 80's. I used to work as a certified mechanic and have not kept track but have probably built 50 or so engines. I always use a socket to install them and always put on a thin layer of RTV. I would think it would take more pressure than 11 pounds to push them out...

Bat wing Deuce machine shop gasser

The link is to a thread on G838. The guy lives in Pakistan and found some Deuces at a local scrap yard. One is a gasser M46 chassis with the bat wing machine shop on it. I think very few were made before the figured out the bat wing was better suited to a five ton chassis. Forums for anyone...

    Tailgate lock assembly

Do you need just the lock cylinder or the whole crank assembly? LMC truck has the lock cylinder. Actually they have just about the whole thing. It can get expensive buying it bit by bit. The only thing about the lock cylinder is that it does not have tumblers so you have to get it keyed by a...

Rear Brake Shoes - What size? Two options at NAPA...

Both sizes are for 1/2 ton applications. You need the larger of the two. I might be mistaken but I thought the difference was not the diameter but the width of the shoe. Either way get the bigger of the two. I have some in the garage that I have not installed yet. I can try to post the number...

Licensing and Insuring M929A2 in Michigan

I just sent you a reply to the pm. Did you take your own plate in or did you get the plate from them? The reason I ask is if you take in a plate from the year the truck was built you can get it registered and the registration is good for life. If they supply the plate then it is only for 10...
