Yet another M1009 w/ Elec. Problems

This is simple electrical trouble shooting. I would run. If they are replacing stuff like a relay without checking it first sounds very suspicious. This is very simple stuff to check. They may stumble on the military specific stuff but with a schematic they should be able to check it. Is power...

Yet another M1009 w/ Elec. Problems

The mechanic probably also missed the fact that the starter impulse from the relay under the dash is still putting out 24 volts to the start side of the solenoid on the starter. If you are going to have him convert it to 12 volts then down load the how to in the resources section. Your original...

Need a haul from Lansing, MI to Las Vegas, NV

No forward movement yet. When the cucv got done then I got a spree for my daughter. Got that running then my tractor came in the garage. It is now apart with the head at the machine shop. The front and rear water passages were blocked and the extra heat led to a burned number 4 exhaust valve...

Help ID this 101 gen. trailer please.

This one actually is a genset trailer. You can tell by the built in fuel tank. I think the tank is the same as the one for the M715 or possibly the M37. I don't know if it has a specific M number but I have seen a few. Not to contradict you Mark but take a look at the fuel filler on the side...

U6TL: Battery or Anti-personnel weapon? You decide...

I have had 6tls in my truck for the last 5 years with no problems. I also have 6tls in my cucv and have had them for the past 3 years. I have never had a problem. I also never had a problem with them when I was in the military. Not negating anyone's opinion or experience, just passing on my own...

Was told to get "back-up" lights, so,,,,,,

I think you got off lucky on your install. Most state laws that I have seen require the backup lights to only be activated when the vehicle is in reverse. In other words, you can not be able to turn them on unless you are in reverse. Incidentally, I recently researched this and in Michigan it...

    Gun rings on 5 tons

The mount is the same as the deuce for the M39 series and 800 series five tons. The 900 series use the same ring mount but I am pretty sure the legs and adapters are different. The cabs on the 900 series is wider. The cabs on the deuce and the other five tons are the same.

Who's going to Findley Ohio this weekend?

If you look real close you can probably see me in that picture. I am the one on the ground choking on the 85K price. Problem is the price is probably in line with what they go for.

    Ignition switch locking up

I would say all that stuff should take no longer than an hour or so to check. If you find the rack is bad then you would have to disassemble the column to get it fixed and that would be the only thing that would take a real long time. Good luck with it.

Who's going to Findley Ohio this weekend?

Why didn't you just have it attached to the truck up this way that you need to get down there? Or have you recovered the dump truck yet?

    Ignition switch locking up

I think you will find that your rack mechanism inside the upper column is bad. The first thing I would do is take off the actual switch which is lower on the column under the dash. Then try to turn the key. If it turns fine then the switch is bad. If it still hangs pull the lock cylinder out and...
