Well,Today I passed my 1967 Deuce"Oddball" on to it's new owner, along with all the associated parts I had for it.
Kind of a sad moment for me,this was the first MV I myself purchased in 1999,now I am officially deuceless.
Hopefully the new owner will be posting up here with new expierences...
+1 on what pmramsey said, the ENDT 673 was basically a commercial design, modified slightly to meet military requirements.
Dependable almost to a fault, with 1 weakness, they run a flat tappet cam vs a roller cam follower as most "modern" diesels do,and are prone to cam lobe wear.
Having owned...
Sorry it took so long Mike,I just now saw this post.
From the engine cover to the top of the hardtop is 21 inches, granted mine has the older style engine cover with the square corners vs the rounded ones.
As others have stated, pretty much the nature of the beast on the 250.
The M816 I had, even with 6 new injectors,a completely rebuilt IP,excellent compression(checked w/a diesel compression test set) and as much as 6(yes 6!) hot batteries, would struggle at ANY start below 30 degrees overnight...

I concluded that it had 3 major issues...
Drivers side front negative camber/caster angles...

They will nickel and dime you to death, especially the older units that have been used by a municipality, civilian owner, what have you.You spend...
I had the same problem with the kit I got from them,If I remember correctly,I had to switch the ground and high beam wires around on both supplied harnesses.
I will check and make sure and repost here.
Ok,I checked, check the harness as described below,
The top terminal on the back of the...
I "think" the 3-53s are governed to 2200 rpms(?) Detroits just sound that way normally.
As to the RPMS,no idea,Gama Goats never had tachometers,(to my knowledge anyway).
Sorry for the shaky video, evidently I have a tire out of balance on the tractor of the Goat.
Ok,Follow up report on the Goat after it's trip to the GA rally.
What little I got to drive it on the trails,it preformed flawlessly,I only had to use 6wd twice!
Adam and I did take it on a "road trip" to Greensboro GA on Sat morning, on this trip I noticed the Goat was pulling to the...
