I replaced all of my p/s hoses & connections, completely flushed system and filled with p/s fluid. Works great.
Kept having leaks around pump & reservoir; took reservoir apart 3 times and installed new O-rings, finally I thoroughly cleaned mating surfaces of pump & reservoir for a thin coating...
Jarhead1086 installed a turbo on his 923 w/250, and reported good results. You can PM him for some good details & info on what he did to his, lots of good info & great work.
This is pretty telling to me; been there, done that. I added extra silicone grease (or any grease that is compatible with your wheel O-rings) all around the O-ring and put a thin coating on the inside mating surfaces of one problem wheel I have....it worked!
Could be that when you...
I secured a 7-in grinder in my vise, and marked on the race where it needed to be ground down to...then carefully ground the races down to the required height, as marked/scored on the race prior to grinding. Seems to have worked, as I've done 4 complete sets of hubs on Deuces since then and...
Nevada will process an SF-97 as long as there is no more than ONE (1) re-assignment, and everything is notarized. I've had several people locally contact me about getting a vehicle titled with an SF-97 that was re-assigned to person they bought vehicle from...I had to tell them to have the...
I've had very good experiences at both the East Sahara office as well as the North Decatur office. Only once have I had to get a supervisor involved, that was because the clerk helping me had added an extra digit to the VIN & had to get the title re-issued. Another time, when titling a 1960...
???? Sorry, just saw this. That clerk was in error; the email was most likely meant for HMMWVs. Did you ask to see a copy of the email? Did you ask for a supervisor to come over and explain the details of the supposed email? Which DMV office did you go to?
Only HMMWVs are supposed to be...
Another Deuce saved & going to a loving home...can't beat that!
Nice truck, good job! Enjoy! [thumbzup]
Read the TMs available here for free, and there's nothing you can't fix on it.
All excellent posts here; you'll know when you remove the wheels/tires if you need seals for sure; if there is crusty/greasy/oily buildup on the outside of the drum/hub, that is a dead giveaway to replace seals & rebuild wheel cylinder. I'm going through an older Deuce now, and am on the last...
Easy rule of thumb when it comes to removing RH/LH threaded nuts & thimbles (aka Budd style): no matter which side you're on, they will always tighten towards the front of the vehicle and loosen to the rear.
I get to do this as well, glad to hear that others have had this same problem & found solutions. I plan on getting my exhaust manifold ceramic-coated (had my M35 D-turbo done, looks GREAT), should be able to start in the next month or two.
Thanks to everyone for the helpful info!! [thumbzup]
I quit using Optima batteries about 6 - 7 years ago; several battery dealers told me that once Optima switched production to Mexico, failure rates & warranty claims on Optima products skyrocketed. One dealer showed me a rack of dozens of new Optimas that were awaiting return under warranty...
If it's not a head gasket issue, try draining the coolant and replace with water & Cascade dish soap...run it around to get it warm, then drain & flush it out. I like to follow this up with water & white vinegar afterwards, to knock out the rust/scale/gunk. Full flush and refill with new...
