    Dump truck fording

Similar thoughts. I found a car in a lake in FL. The car was 1/4 mile from the shore line. Odd but as we inquired, found out it was a man made lake and that car (and many more) were left there as the lake filled up.

    Not your regular Bobbed 6x6

It's not going to matter where you drive or if you are in 2WD 4x4 or 6x6, that pesky steering geometry is going to be an issue.....but only if you turn. Let me add this though, GM didn't compensate for ackerman angles on the 73-87 trucks. They were the same for blazers at 106" WB all the way to...

    Not your regular Bobbed 6x6

I just went back and checked out the pic of your truck from the towbar thread. It's got a drivers side tank. It's an M51 without bed or M52. It's got the same WB as the 818 I posted a pic of.

Here is an M818. Tractor wheelbase, 1600 tires. I don't see anything shorter getting you much. How do you plan on fixing the Ackerman angle?

You can certainly get a foot out of the middle, that would get you tractor wheelbase. You would have to carefully measure from there. You would also need to lose or relocate the 78 gallon fuel tank.

    Hey from Socal

Welcome to the world of MVs, congrats. I've not bought surplus in a long time. I don't know if it was GP or what but one of them clearly states the paperwork will reflect the bidders ID. Might not be but its worth looking over the minutia (fine print).

Not sure what kind of truck you're wanting to shorten but here are 2 considerations. Ackerman angle. If you move the rear bogie assy up too far, you will be fighting to get it to turn. I can say this about a deuce but not so much on 5 tons. The rear driveshaft on a deuce tractor is fairly...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I seem to recall a zerk fitting in the ebrake cables right above the toolbox. I could be wrong.

M1007 - CUCV Suburban Clone Build Thread

I can't link to a large auction site but if you looked there (US of course) you would find them. They are nothing more than a pair of Warn standard hubs but they are blacked out. If I had a set, I'd send them your way. A few years back a bunch of new or rebuilt front axles were auctioned off...

    Wiring issues

I just used my search engine to see what an NVU six pack was and I got nothing that looked like gauges. Curious as to what you haver Skinny.

Hello from the the best Carolina :)

Well, someone else posted the link on the "Plan B", thanks for that. Your door data plate showes 94-xxxxx. That is certainly a Navy registration number so it was theirs (yours) first. Enjoy

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That dastardly air shift lever. LOL, it happens.

    1952 XM215

I would not use the GMC auto trans at all. The 215 is a rare truck and the parts were not designed for the power of the V-10.

To tow or not to tow that is the question! Peterbilt w/MV tow bar 6x6 cornbinder

Regardless of the air bag issue, which I know absolutely nothing about, I still thought that weight needed to be added to the back of the tractor. 30,000# would push that tractor right around in a wet curve. Ultimately, the FWTD is best. Holmes made a neat (complicated) one for the military...

To tow or not to tow that is the question! Peterbilt w/MV tow bar 6x6 cornbinder

Standing down, that makes so much sense, my brain housing group hurts. This fixes every single issue.

Nice looking burb. Any plans to add lockout hubs? Where is far east?

    7520lbs and 130 hp

Haha, I never complained about power with my CUCV until I moved to the mountains. If I want to turn left at the main road, I have to go right, make a u-turn and get a running start to get up the hill.
