    CUCV M1009 electrical issues

In my experience the needle should be in the green at all times. If it gets to the yellow you either have week or no charging. Question though your Gen lights are part of your instrument cluster harness. Has the cluster harness been removed?

    M1009 Shock Recommendations

I'm not big on lifts but the only truck I've ridden in that actually rode good with a lift had bilstein shocks on it. Not sure which ones but it was a 6 inch lift shock.

Pretty tired after work today so decided to do a quick job. I'd say it was time for those to be replaced. That completes the replacement of the rubber brake lines.

    CUCV 1008,1009, 1028 prices.

I've seen M1009s in Alabama with no rust in good running condition go for 6-10K depending on the current market.

    M1008 rear brakes

@Keith_J is onto something I would also check your soft lines. If they are old and worn they can start to collapse on themselves restricting fluid travel and causing issues. After that a good brake bleed at all four corners would also be advised.

Plans to install the Trans got sidelined today due to not getting the transmission jack fixed. The day was not a complete waste though I got a rust hole welded up on the upper passenger side cab corner where the camper shell meets. Down and upside to that is the heat made some bondo crack near...

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

As one of my old bosses used to say at a job I didn't stay at very long. "You can rest when your dead, until then there's work to be done" wonder why I didn't stay very long. Enjoy a breather if you need to. We al need a battery recharge from time to time.

    fuel filter and lines

It's usually just seals that go bad. Yes they can be repaired pretty easily but a lot of people prefer the availability of spin ons. Its the worst case scenario mindset. If your in the middle of no where and your filter gets clogged for some reason chances are uncle Freddy's parts store will...

    fuel filter and lines

You can get spin on systems with heaters as well. I recall it being a decent amount more expensive. I believe you have to get a filter head from a modern diesel that has a heater built in.

    fuel filter and lines

That all depends on who you ask and what you need. If you need the water in fuel sensor and the fuel heater then I would stick with stock. The main reasons people convert are for ease of finding filters or if the factory system is leaking. I live in the south so I did not need a fuel heater...

I have in the past. I have learned that doing things the right way usually goes smoother. Less busted knuckles and expletives. So unless it has to be done immediately I can wait to get the correct tool for the job.

The only jack I have had for about 14 years is a Duralast trolly jack. I keep saying I need to buy a floor jack but when it comes time to work on stuff I spend the money on parts instead. As far as the barn goes I would probably do the same thing you are, or a thick napped roller if it wouldn't...

Got it ordered, no one locally had it in stock. All the bolts have been getting a coat of marine grease brushed on them or anti seize in a few cases.

I've been putting off the transmission install till I could get a Trans jack. A friend happened to have one that had been sitting outside unused for years that he gave me yesterday. I took it apart last night and ordered the few parts I need to fix it. I am hopeful that the Trans will be going...

Yeah I have an impact that does 675ft lbs in reverse. I also had a shallow impact socket. That ball swivel was what was killing me on that venture. It was unfortunately necessary to get onto the bolt though.

@cucvrus that 2nd bolt was not easy my friend. I was wondering if the bolt or my impact was going to give first. Luckily it was the bolt.

Driver side came right out. I can't get the impact on the passenger side so it's proving to be more problematic. I'll have to stop and grab a swivel for my 1/2 impact tomorrow to get the passenger one out.

I'm not really sure what the tracks look like I'll have to pull the cover off and see. I have not pulled the bolts out of the top plates yet. I'll go see if they will pop out real quick.
