You are a class guy unlike some other people in the world. You don't have anything to apologies for. Don't let what others say affect you. Wishing you the best.
Stick with a standard harmonic balancer, GM engineered them for a G.M. balancer. The truck will function better with the designed part. These trucks are basic work trucks designed for low rpm, torque, and speeds at 55 mph max. Use it for it's intended purpose, drive it within it's limits and it...
Standard motors TS-621 Ebay has them, Amazon has them, just went from $80.00 to $107.00 today. They list it as a fit for a 1986 M1008 but not for a 1984 I assume if it fits a 86 it will fit a 84
Looks good, that is a lot of gas welding, a TIG welder would sure come in handy. It sounded like you received 3 pulleys, would you be interested in selling one?

I don't think you would lose the same amount of fluid you put in without the engine running from the lines to the radiator. If it is all leaking out from just sitting there than it must be below the top of the fluid pan. You should clean all the fluid off the surrounding area then have someone...
If you buy a new circuit board and you already have it all apart, you might want to consider just going with the new circuit board if the old one looks at all questionable. You may even want to consider replacing the sockets with new and skip the cleaning them up part, would save some time...
Owning a truck like this is about learning everything you can to keep it running and in good mechanical shape. Look at it as a hobby and take advantage of the resource the generous members are willing to give you to help you complete any job you chose to tackle. There is no such thing as not...
That is your call on the circuit board. They run about $68 dollars. I would take it apart, evaluate, then order a new one if needed. It is not that difficult to do over if you do need a new ribbon circuit board.
