It might weigh less than 26,001 lbs., but that isn't how CDLs and plates are rated. They're based on the total vehicular rated capability (GVWR) and I'd assume a bridge truck is probably something like 50K lbs. GVWR.
I mean, what's your goal with it? Do you just think it's neat? Do you want to enter the military vehicle hobby? Want a deuce? Looking for a truck to refurbish and resale? A lot of this depends upon your intent.
I like gasser M44 trucks-they're really rare and unusual, but they're tough to...
1. We ask that images be posted here on SS, versus hosted somewhere else. Here's a tutorial: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?59917-How-to-post-pictures-a-tutorial&p=1295196&viewfull=1#post1295196
2. That is a really cool truck. It isn't an M35A1-it's an M35. An A1 would have...
This drives me nuts. I was looking for an answer for something on my Mom's PT Cruiser and a Neon/Cruiser forum had this guy who showed up, posted exactly the issue I was having, dozens of people offered suggestions and there was no conclusion to the thread. Drives me bananas.
Obviously the pictured vehicle isn't done, but my '69 Satellite 440/4speed/Dana60 had Hemi springs I had taken apart, blasted and painted and they still looked good 20K miles later.
At some point, all leaf springs will look like this because the inherent nature of a spring is to move and as the...
We've bought about 35-40 trucks from GL, none from GP.
Only 3 had records and that was because the USAF left them in the truck.
The overwhelming odds are you will not get records with whatever you buy.
MB engines were green, GPWs were Ford gray.
This thread might be of some help, but the majority of the pictures are in B&W-color WWII shots are uncommon.

In short, if you look at enough...
Well, this engine sat uncranked for 5+ years at a minimum but a broken shaft does seem like a stretch to me as well.
The output is pulsing when the engine is cranking-I haven't gotten it to fire obviously. But the pulsing may be as the starter loads and unloads the batteries, the electric...
Hmmm, I might have found my answer in another thread:
From: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?21469-M35-engine-transmission-swap-amp-road-gear
I guess I am going to have to push this thing to where I can get the gantry crane on it to remove the booster.
Still like to hear other...
Did you ever find what the answer was to this?
Figure I'll bump an existing thread versus starting a new one.
I have a deuce we got from Albany. Paperwork says it was running in 2008. Isn't now.
I have a ton of fuel going into the booster pump (volume and pressure-I swear it would fill up...
If your truck ever needs a push, the bumperettes allow such an operation without damage.
The rubber bumpers on your tailgate sit against the bumperettes when open all the way.
How did you straighten the frame?
My limited experience with Jeep frames has been that almost all of them are off in some way-either a high or low corner or out of square. All my experience with such issues involved frame benches.
Took my first "trip" in the truck with the "clinto relay conversion" (rofl). Approximately 100 miles when we went to the BBQ Saturday with Andy3 and the guys. Pulling Dave's equipment trailer with my 24-12 GI adapter and going through a lot of traffic and a lot of turns, no problems...
