    M35A2 questions

Oh, you don't mean the fuel pump in the tank, you mean the injection pump doesn't work. Because it should run without the in tank pump once you get fuel up to the booster pump. So let me get this straight: No winch, no dropside, no expensive new tires, no lockouts, rusty interior, doesn't run...

Lord help me I've become a Goat Herder

Best trailer in the world for a deuce is a deckover equipment trailer. Big enough to put a lot of stuff on it but small enough to comfortably pull.

    NK0242-72's Build Thread (Rmgill's deuce)

As seen at the 2013 Ga. Rally: And as seen, in 2006, at the cookout that became the Ga. Rally: And very few of you know this, but rmgill is actually the one to blame for the Ga. rally. He's the one in 2006 who said "all us army truck guys should have a get together". And 8 years later we...

Finally in the Jeep club :)

1958_M274 recommended Peter DeBella Jeep parts to me and I've spent about $2K with them so far without issues.

Finally in the Jeep club :)

The windshield is definitely canted back a bit. I am willing to bet they removed the thick gasket under the frame and moved the windshield locks on the dash further down in order to pull it back. I would imagine their goal was reduced wind noise and buffering.

    M-series flasher relay - civvy conversion how-to

EG22 is a 24V flasher relay. I do not know if this will work with LEDs-thank you for bringing this up. I will edit the original post and add that disclaimer.

    M-series flasher relay - civvy conversion how-to

Here are the Home Despot part #s so you can grab exactly what you need: And another schematic of the EG22 relay, in case my photoshopped version wasn't clear: The final version can be seen here: And can be seen installed on HQ43. You can see the pattern of the old unit in the paint on...

    M-series flasher relay - civvy conversion how-to

So, everyone is familiar with the standard M-series flasher relay? 2 bolts, 3 pin cannon connector, attaches to the drivers side firewall or inner fender, depending on model. This one: How many of you realize that the current replacements are absolutely worthless trash? Well, they are...

Finally in the Jeep club :)

That looks great. I love the M38A1-it's the best military Jeep there is. Never should have sold my first one.

Who makes the best hub boot?

Saturn. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?9728-2-month-old-split-axle-boots But, keep in mind that most of this stuff comes from one place and there are 50 people and businesses selling it. So getting it from White Owl is likely to be the same as getting it from Memphis. I've done...

Who makes the best hub boot?

I would be willing to bet that what a lot of people think are ripped boots, cut open from debris offroad are actually splits in the rubber from it decaying from the grease. These boot pictures are a set of boots 5 months after installation. They had come into contact with nothing but grease...

Deuce trip n/e KS to FL Orlando.

I'll be happy to help and I've convinced the local Napa to stock 4 of the correct M44 wheel cylinders for me, so I can get them.

Putting a Jeep in the bed!

A Mule is bigger than it looks. It takes up every inch of an 8' longbed in a modern truck. I doubt you'd even get it in an M37 and if you did, it would hang beyond the tailgate.

PS: M1101 Bouncing All Over and Cooking Thread

Not always-sometimes an oval (or square, lol) tire will still balance ok. If they have what's called a "road force" machine, they can actually measure how round the tire is. A standard balancer, whether it's a 50 year old static balancer (can only correct for up and down imbalance) or a modern...

Bidding on a truck that won't start even with a jump.

Here's a great story: Have a friend who bought a deuce from GL. Wouldn't start, checked the plunger in the IP, it was stuck, hit the button and fired right off. And that's when I heard the god awful sound, like a dozen claw hammers in a dryer. Sounded a lot like a CUCV. Shattered cylinder...
