    80 MPH Speedometer Backlight?

You nailed it! Got the splitter installed and its fixed.

    M1097R1 from GovtPlanet has arrived

If its sluggish could be the transmission not shifting at the right times. There is a linkage cable behand the doghouse that you can adjust if need be. My m998 had that issue, the cable was stretched over time and it was starting in second gear. Tightened it up and its like it gained 50hp.

    HMMWV Headlight Issue

The wires should be labeled and the lights should be too. What lights did you buy? Aftermarket?

    Companies that rebuild these.

Hmm, maybe you gotta up your game. All the girls tell me I have a cool "army car" lol.

    Companies that rebuild these.

If you want to pick up chicks, buy a hmmwv. If you want to pick up guys, buy a jeep. Not that there's anything wrong with that....

    Elusive Electrical Gremlin

So interestingly my m1151 does this as well, but zero other issues. Just the rear evap fan kicks off every once in awhile, then turns back on after a minute. The front fan stays on and nothing else on the truck malfunctions. It seems weird that something with the start box could cause this...

No windshield M1123 - what parts do I need?

I'm not positive about the m1165, but I know m1151's use a different windshield retainer than an m998. It's very similar, but its thicker aluminum and the holes are in different locations. It attaches with bolts, not self tapping screws. If your windshield frame has threaded inserts I would...

Are there essentially only 2 different hoods?

There are hoods with cracks, and hoods that are going to crack.

    HMMWV Headliner thickness & Hardness

FYI, Mac Motors has OEM headlinders in stock. They are a little pricey (I was quoted somewhere between 350-400 for the 4 pieces that go around the turret hole) but it will be the right thing and you wont have to cut anything yourself or mess around with templates. Also, the front passenger...

    80 MPH Speedometer Backlight?

You have the 80mph speedo? Is the light internal?

    80 MPH Speedometer Backlight?

I searched and couldn't find an answer to this question...but is it normal that the dash lights do not illuminate my 80 MPH speedometer? Is there supposed to be an internal light in the speedometer itself? At night I can see all my gauges except the speedometer.

    Amgeneral direct parts.

I would think at least the frame and body, but you're probably right that almost everything is is outsourced. I wouldn't make sense to make engine parts, ball joints, etc. I'm told they still make X-doors in batches, but they only make the front and not the rear, and they are stupid expensive.

    Amgeneral direct parts.

Yeah, the few times I had issues with stuff from Mac Motors, they immediately remedied the situation. I highly doubt that Mac Motors is buying stuff from China. I assume that even AM General doesn't make everything in-house. They probably have vendors (and multiple vendors for the same part) and...

    Amgeneral direct parts.

Never dealt with AM General directly, but Mac Motors is an official dealer and they have been fantastic to work with.

Red, white and blue wires cut under dash. 1151a1 2007.

I'm not sure, but my m1151 was FULL of old wires from removed equipment. I've been slowly removing it all over time. Generally the wires that are used for the actual truck are black. If you find a colored wire thats disconnected at both ends I would rip it out, but thats just me.

    prices

I've never seen a truck with hard doors go for under 20K. Add fees, tax, and shipping, and you are pushing 30.

    prices

I was gonna say, humvee parts are cheap! But then I releazed that not everyone works a half mile down the street from Mac Motors...

New Goodyear Wrangler MTs appear to be available again

Don't forget the runflat if you choose to keep them installed. Swapping them from one tire to another seems to be a chore. Also, I would NOT expect the balance to just be okay. Every balanced military wheel I've seen has a HUGE amount of weights on it.

New Goodyear Wrangler MTs appear to be available again

That wasn't my experience. I called around to several commercial truck tire places, they wont touch it. It's an issue with both the split rims and the runflats.

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Whatever you do, dont look at the giant coolant thread here. You'll come out with more questions than answers 🤣 The TM says green ethylene glycol, so thats what I used.
