I picked up a 1953 M37 , originally a AF STRATA BLUE MV . Some time in it's life it was painted OD . I am in the process of preping for a paint job , BLUE or OD , What do you think ? I noticed the front bumper was painted RED , what was the purpose of the red bumper if anyone knows . I can't...
I use American Collectors Insurance , which is a part of USAA . Nice people to deal with and good rates . There only issue is they want ENCLOSED storage , which can be a problem . I have covered storage , so it's not a issue . I have all my vehicles reged as HX , cheap plates , probably the only...
What fuel type does your registration say ? If it's a gasser you need to change it . The shop is also able to do a manual change durning the inspection procress . The inspection machine reads the bar code off the windshield reg , so if it's wrong that could be the problem . NYS DMV does not use...
You should be able to pick up that gear at just about any GM dealer , VERY common problem in GM vehicle's for a LONG time , do your ride a BIG favor and change the filter and fluid ASAP , those little nylon gear parts went somewhere and now would be a good time for a change . The trans pressure...
I would check all the basics , but if you have a "weak" reverse , it generally means you have low main line pressure , not a good thing , indicates time to OVERHAUL . Main line pressure is HIGHEST in reverse , it is a basic step in a trans check , bad reverse engagement , low pressure . Have...
I really wanted the 411703 , just could not find one locally . I wondered about using two seals in place of the original , which is a felt seal and oil seal . I also looked in the Timken catalog , but that was what is listed for that seal number . It is also the type of seal stocked and sold by...
Just got back from Buffalo bearing, the correct Timken seal for the worm shaft is a # 471689 , measures 1.000 x 1.752 x 0.250 , as a FYI . That number is the new number for Timken seal 411703 . BK
Thank you for ALL the info , I did a search under "winch seals" and didn't get anything useful ,o well , I am still learning the system . Yes I would like to use a double lip seal , the single lip is "ok" but double lip is better if I had my choice . The reason I am checking and reasealing the...
Does anyone have seal numbers for the seals on the worm shaft ? I am in the procress of checking and overhauling my winch and need some seals . The gears and bushings look almost new , very little wear , freed up the declutching shaft , a few gaskets and seals and I should be in good shape ...
Is this a A3 or a 5 ton ? When you removed the air valves , how did you cap the inlet pipe , did you add the schrader valve to the elbow? I am a little confused when you say you add air to the rears on the inside , which makes this a 5 ton maybe . pictures would help . bob k
Sounds like a points and condenser problem ,but make sure of your coil and all wires . It is a pretty basic system power to the coil , and good points AND condenser and you should get something .
No spark can make you crazy , Are you sure about your test coil's ? if everything else is good I would replace the points , even if they "LOOK GOOD" . Start with the basics , are you getting power to the coil ? you can run a jumper right to the coil and bypass the switch . As they say if in...
Doghead , you are in fact correct , It is a CRIME in our little state-o to use bogus paperwork to obtain a title , maybe he should have come here , a vehicle that old you can register with a bill of sale and it only gets a registration , HX plates , good to go . But he got it done that's all...
Idaho Truck Parts , used to have a lot of M151 parts , they are in the procress of "getting out" of 151 parts , you maybe able to get some DEALS , bob k

I have removed the wheel valves ,weights and guards , I am in the procress of installing 395's and will not be using the system . I have a leaking Quad seal and plan on installing A2 wheel bearings and seals . I spoke to one of the wrench's over at the base and he said the CTIS system is one...
When my brother first started his Fire Dept in Waterloo, Alabama those were his first vehicles , with the slide in pump . He also had a M211 , with home made tank and pump . They were provided by the Forest Service and had to go back to them when he was finished with them . That was back in the...
