https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mep-803a-getting-it-to-work-my-first-one.197416/#post-2302349 I am not sure if this link will work or if you have to copy and paste it...the first post has pics of my set with fuses showing behind the gauge set. Yes the TM are different from what I...

    Need help MEP-803A

So I'm kinda new to the 803 life but have been working on mine since June I think...mine started out the same way as it did not make ac power, did not read on the big ac gauge up on the right on the cluster....it did charge the batteries though...so what one smart guy told me to check was when I...

    Recharging Exide 6tmf

Sounds like you've done this before!! joking...pretty obvious you have done this before! Glad you have an outlet to get batteries that work well and not that expensive! I got agms for my one genset and were 160 each! 800cca car battery size...Having the set there and ready to go into...

MEP-803A getting it to work,,,my first one!

Parts/spares are very slowly making it's way here! USPS is overwhelmed. Hopefully get the return line and the other few things I ordered. I have 2 main fuel filter water separators...I assume the one on the genset has not been changed...I usually see a marker with a date written on it...I may...

    Recharging Exide 6tmf

Glad you got this to work!! I have had a decent success with doing this to batteries over the years...I had my meter smoke out a few months ago, had it for about 20 years though...can't beat a good fluke 88...I would use the batteries in whatever you're going to sell...unless you work new ones...

MEP-803A getting it to work,,,my first one!

So I got the new gauge the other day which is exactly the same as the one I burned up! Thanks Light man!! Does it work?? Yes...the gauge reads a touch under full...the sending unit resistance wire is now at 56 ohms when it was 20 ohms before I took out the sender...I haven't run the fuel down...

    Dog fish update??

100% !! I think the state of charge was one of the first things I was taught in school...actually had a great learning experience too just that day!! Had a kid put the charger on a battery and he used the start function of the charger...because that's where you start charging the battery...he...

    Dog fish update??

I jumped outside quick since it's kinda nice out...I found that the wires are all there but the one purple wire that is supposed to go to the starter is not hooked up...wire is just coiled up under the hood too...I don't have a stock connector and couldn't find it so far...are there any out...

    Dog fish update??

Ok that was my main problem or issue...I have seen some stuff before but not that...I found the mod thread earlier today but it didn't talk about what I have. My thought on the relay burning up on low batteries is simple...there isn't enough power to pull and hold the relay magnet shut...the...

    Dog fish update??

Yeah it's been hacked up a bit...I don't see any of those twist caps that you use on house electric but that might be about it when it comes to this starter thing...if that stock relay is still available and not a poc I would like to get one fixed up in there...it's not to hard but I know so...

    Dog fish update??

It does what it's supposed to unfortunately the new relay is stuck on! I guess they let the china smoke out of it...the guy at the yard in Chambersburg where I got it said it stuck on for him and he ripped the wire off the relay...they were jump starting it at the time with the huge yard...

    Dog fish update??

Ok, this is my first post about my 86 blazer I got several months ago...I have been able to figure out most everything on it and it does run great. It is pretty stock so far minus this relay thing. The one weird thing I have, which I have seen others with online, is a starter relay bolted...

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

Looks very good!! I took the wheel chain off as well...had to unbolt the seat though since I didn't have the key...or at least the correct one!! This rain is nuts...hopefully done soon.

MEP-803A getting it to work,,,my first one!

I just found out that the center popped up and locked in position to fill with fuel...I fiddled with it some that day and tried to take it out but it didn't want to easily so I left it...I'll dig some more tomorrow again and see how it unlocks! Pouring rain here today so I'll keep the fuel tank...

MEP-803A getting it to work,,,my first one!

I completely appreciate that sticky you did!! I ordered parts by referring to it to get the ones I think I need now plus an extra or 2! I did get the nitrile plugs->I think you posted about that too...I have a nice torque wrench that's seen hundreds of transmission valve bodies, so I'll be set...

MEP-803A getting it to work,,,my first one!

That makes sense...I just looked at mine and it has a screen attached to the filler neck that pops up...I will explore this some more and see if it does come out as I do think I could get in there then, if need be, to at least test the float for the gauge-->adjust height and such for the level...

MEP-803A getting it to work,,,my first one!

I gotta admit that getting out the sending unit had some challenges...but now that I have done it I don't think a 30 minute replacement time would be out of scope!! Mine did not change resistance at any float location so I had to take it out and get it working again...the reaching in and trying...

    Recharging Exide 6tmf

Have the batteries ever had the recon done before? I am not sure that trying to get the last .2 out of the battery would merit it but you can try since they are old and may not last much longer anyhow....the debris on the bottom will be there if they sat for a long time without being...
