    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

My 6.5 has much more power and torque then a 6.2. The 6.5 does not have the fuel economy that the 6.2 has. There are many factors that are in play with mpg. 1. I have a 5 1/2” lift kit that creates more wind resistance. 2. I have 37” MTR tires that takes more power (Fuel) to get the wheels...

    ARB Snorkel Warning!

Do not install an ARB snorkel to your 6.2 or 6.5 TURBO diesel. The outlet is only 3” wide and does not give enough air flow to the motor, that is if you have a turbo. After installing the filter indicator after the filter on my motor, I have learned that the snorkel starves the motor of...

Heck yeah! I have not heard about electric socks. They work good? I usually just wear a nylon socks under a pair of wool socks and that usually keeps the feet warm and dry.

When it gets super cold, -10 threw -30 f, I remove the 4x 13mm nuts that hold the fan on and take the fan off. Doing this helps. Just gotta keep your eyes constantly on the temp gauge. I also wear a -30f jump suit with boots as seen in the pic.

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

This weekend I am going to take it on a nice 700 mile run as a Maiden Voyage with the new motor, trans and t case. I will report back the stats and mpg. I’ll haul butt on the way there and do a 65 mph way back towing a 2000 pound pop up camper which is going to be the next off road camper build.

The snorkel pre filter arrived. Also got the beadlocks off and slapped the new tires on the old aluminum rims.

    It sold for $19,150… :-(

Balancing beads needed for bead locks?

You were right on! I busted open all 5 bead locks and here’s what I found… The dyna beads were sticking to even the smallest amount of moisture inside the tire. I believe the best result would be not to use soapy water or PB Blaster to install the PVC insert into the tire. I had cleaned the...

    Recirculating Coolant Heater?

I have a cold advance switch, radiator needs swapped and thermostat needs done here soon. Will have to drain the coolant. Will be a perfect time to experiment and report back how it works.

    Recirculating Coolant Heater?

If no one has done one of these recirculating coolant heaters on their CUCV, I’ll do one and do a write up on it! I think this would be a much better solution to warming the motor and radiator at the same time with only one unit.

    What is this truck worth?

Hyperinflation has already hit a few countries. Gallon of milk is going for $20!
  13. 2INSANE

    What is this truck worth?

Yeah! Nada says it worth only $10,000 tops if it was mint condition and fully loaded. Wtf is up with these crazy prices? Inflation or everyone thinks their junk is gold?

    Recirculating Coolant Heater?

Let’s talk about this. So the outlet would be a t fitting on one of the heater core hoses and the inlet would be somewhere on the lower end of the block…. So where is the best place on the lower end of the block to tap into? Perhaps a freeze plug on driver side with a bung welded to it?

    What is this truck worth?

Us Navy 2002 Chevy 2500 duramax turbo diesel crew cab long bed, 4x4, aluminum shell, lifted, 48,000 original miles! What is it worth? What is the military code name for it like M1009 or M1028? Is it a Cucv?

    Recirculating Coolant Heater?

Has anyone ever tried a recirculating coolant block heater? One that heats the coolant and moves the coolant at the same time?

    84 m1009 cucv chevy blazer build-up

I got my poor mans winter front grill cover on today. Gives about 15-20 degrees of more heat Also used one of those tower drill bits and drilled a hole into the 6.5 intake rubber elbow to install the air filter indicator. While I had the air filter box off, I checked the filter and found a...

    Another M1010 owner

Jesus! That Sherpa winch is a great deal! I paid $2800 for my Warn 24v winch about 8 years ago and it is only rated 12k. Nice score! Have you thought about winching up a big tree or a 100% vertical incline just to see if it would lift it? Would be cool. I’ve thought about doing that for fun. Now...
