Since I was not able to find an Oem TV cable, I experimented with a TV cable that was a few inches longer and it worked out great with the adjustment. See part Y-225. Sold on Amazon for only $15. See pics.

The One Stop 700R4 Swap M1009

The older np208 transfer case’s are designed to have part #12, which is the trans/t-case support rod. It prevents the transmission case and bell housing from cracking. They are not made anymore and are quite rare to find. If your np208 has those 2 bolt holes for the support rod, then I recommend...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

This morning I plugged in the CUCV with the intent to drive it to the shop and work on it. After doing 2 loads of dishes, all the laundry and clean house, I thought an old man nap was needed. When I woke up, the wife was back from work and demanded more work out of me. Now it’s about 8pm and I...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I put gorilla tape on my soft top windows to cover all the cracks. Hope to get another winter out of this topper. Got a new one already for next spring. Also bought my old set of aluminum rims back from the junkyard today. I am ditching the beadlocks until I can afford some 40’s. Also ordered...

The One Stop 700R4 Swap M1009

Step 13 (Optional) Delete all vacuum lines and remove vacuum pump. If you are on a budget, you can modify your old vacuum pump gear drive by removing the top vacuum pump, installing a pressed cap on top and a plate on the side as seen in pics 1-3 Or you can buy a 6.5 oil pump gear drive...

The One Stop 700R4 Swap M1009

Step 11 Plug in the transfer case 4x4 indicator plug on the top of the np208. This is the only electrical connection needed for a pre 1986 700r4 swap. Pic 1 Step 12 If you have a warranty on your 700r4, I recommend having the transmission shop install the tv cable bracket, tv cable rod, tv...

    6.2 and 6.5 engine questions

Agreed! The p400 components are indeed better! So far, I have not seen any documentation on any P400 blocks cracking or heads cracking. I also have not seen any documation of an older block, that has been crack proofed to have actually cracked. That is why I made the comparison. Love the motor...

    6.2 and 6.5 engine questions

So both the 6.2 and 6.5 is “Knocking”, I would try and figure out what the knocking noise is before you go crazy on spending huge amounts of money. Could be something simple, like a bad injector, lifter or ip timing could be off. Steel crank is not needed. Waste of money. Crank failure is cause...
