    Now I'm a liar

Rizzo how did you measure the voltage? SSDiesel said the controller drops the voltage but that is wrong. if you measure the voltage at the relay w/ the system off you will get 24V. resistors do not drop the voltage until you get current flow and that is why you see 24V at first then it drops...

    HEMMT for sale

Good eyes on the fuel truck guys. I know the owner and it was a fuel truck. Sarafan put the cargo bed on it and sold it to the current owner. I have not seen the truck in person but I will say he is the only person I know that would give Bruce a run for his money on being extreemly particular...

    M816 power questions

Kenny, aka Slick, there is no such thing as a stupid question unless you are on the "Gee" where there is:"G503.com Message Forums: Everything You Always Wanted To Know About WWII Military Vehicles, Jeeps, and more." The pin is reversible. AMGeneral, the trailer is in good condition. I...

    Towing M123 with M816

When I went to pick up my 10 ton I had to lift the rear of it to swing the truck around to get it lined up to hook up the tow bar. It was all my M816 could do to lift it. When I tried to move, the front end of the wrecker came off the ground which would make the 10 ton come back down. I had to...

    Towing M123 with M816

I FLAT towed my 10 ton home with my M816 and it was a handful. I would NOT lift the front end of the 10 ton with the wrecker, the steering of the wrecker will become too light and the front axel will probably even want to lift off the ground. Also be sure to hook air brake lines from the wrecker...

    Complete heater kit needed/wanted

My friend Kells (deepwoods@citcom.net) has a barn full of NOS mutt heater kits. The M809 uses the same heater kit but requires the accessory kit to adapt it to the M809 application. The biggest difference is the hearter mount over the muffler and the diverter box under the dash is backwards from...

    M816 power questions

The cranking time is excessive but I'd still argue the power is not unusual. One basic thing I found early on with my wrecker is it requires four HOT batteries for a quick start. It seemed like it was cranking at a reasonable rpm but would struggle to start at low/cool ambient temps but all...

    M816 power questions

Hmmmmmmmmm, what size tires do you have? You should have 12.00X20s which I don't have here to get a diameter measurement. Fifth gear should be .78:1 and the rears should be 6.443:1 and I measure about 41" diameter on the 11.00s on my M816. At 2000rpm on the engine you are turning approximately...

    M816 power questions

The PTG pump is not exernally adjustable and that is why I was asking if you had changed the spring and fuel button. It was my understanding that the spring controls the governed speed and the button sets the fuel rate. In the pdf drawing Ron posted they are located under the cover shaped like a...
