more electrical power out of a cucv system

A few (somewhat esoteric) questions come to mind..... Will the belts slip under full load? And, will the engine idle under full load? Serious question now-what will you be using 200-300 amps for? Scott

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

I second what Rory says. Do whatever you need to do so you can drive it. We like having you at the events. I would offer to drive it for you, but it's missing the clutch pedal:-P. Just kidding. If I can help you shuttle it around, I will. Scott

    GM 10 bolt....

If you're looking for cheap and fast, used assemblies are usually available at your local salvage yard. Finding one with a 3.08 gear shouldn't be a problem. What specifically did you break? Scott

    Headlights

I am going to leave the stock connectors on the truck, and build adapters for the headlights. I have one burned-out bulb that I can use the wires from (hence the conversion). I'll ask around. Surely I'm not the only one with a burn-out bulb laying around :? Scott

    Headlights

So, apparently I posted on this thread in 2009. Eight years later, I finally ordered the kit from Susquehanna Motor Sports. The burners were back-ordered, so it took them 2 weeks to get them to me, but they finally arrived. My question now is, should I order the ceramic connectors, or go to...

To turbo or not to turbo 6.2 Diesel?

Tim, If you don't mind me asking, how much did the Banks kit cost? I put a factory 6.5 turbo in my civilian Chevy. I had to custom-fab the exhaust, and modify the A/C housing to make it all fit. I'm wondering if it would have been a lot easier, and maybe not much more expensive, to go the Banks...

FMTV - Building the Bed crane

That's pretty spiffy! Is the LMTV 12 volt capable, or will you have to use some sort of voltage converter? Scott

Mark is indeed the Dutch oven master! Due to recent rotator cuff repair, I can't drive my deuce. But I drove the POV down for the day Saturday. I stuffed my face with Mark's cooking Saturday night, then drove the hour and 15 minutes home. Hard to stay awake when your stomach is that full, but...
