M813rc, Pawnshop, and myself will be making the trip from Texas. We had a blast in Kansas two years ago (first convention for Pawnshop and me), so we're really looking forward to being there and meeting a bunch of y'all. Scott

    Hello from Texas

Who has the tractor/trailer with the bulldozer on it? Sorry I missed the event. I was out of town at the youngest grandson's 1st birthday party. Hopefully in a few years he'll be riding with me.:) Scott

    M105A2 Spare Tire Simply Mounted

I like that! Did you use the M35 mounting bracket? If so, how hard is it to get to the "winch" to raise and lower the tire? Scott

    6.2 Starter Differences.

Good question. I'm changing my civvy truck from 700R4 to NV4500. Guess I'd better save the starter from the donor truck. Where is Princeton, Tx? Scott

    New V-100

Rory made the repair sound very casual. What he didn't mention was the 3 trips back to my shop for additional fitting and machining, mostly caused by my lack of measuring, and failure to bring tools from the shop to the vehicle. We stopped for dinner about 1700. After preliminary investigation...

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

As it turns out, a wooden wedge and about 2 taps with a hammer will separate the 2 halves of the piston. Replaced the seal, reassembled the airpack, and finally got it in the truck last night. Today after work, I bled the brakes, and took it out for a test drive. WOO-HOO! Brakes work great, and...

    oil blowing out vent line

Brake fluid from airpack vent indicates worn seals in the airpack. See this thread. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/82753-my-airpack-rebuild-photos.html Scott

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

OK, I found the seals I didn't pull out the first time, so I don't have spare parts anymore. However, I am still having trouble with the large aluminum piston. I got the rod out easily, but the piston itself appears to be a 2 piece affair, with the rubber seal sandwiched in between. I am so far...

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

Well, I finally got around to pulling my airpack off and rebuilding it. It looks like some of the internal seals were leaking, judging by the amount of contamination inside. I have a couple of questions. 1: The large piston seems to be a 2-piece affair. How did you get the pieces separated? 2...

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

Thanks for the write-up. I need to rebuild mine and honestly, I've been stalling. It doesn't look all that difficult. Also, thanks for the part numbers on the cylinder hones. I'll try to get my air-pack off the truck this afternoon. I already have the rebuild kit. Scott

First tank WMO and engine quits!

I was shooting the ether straight into the intake manifold, no long intake tubes or air filters in the way. I also found that too much ether before turning the starter creates incredible cylinder pressure, to the tune of not turning over at all. A little shot to make it fire up, and then a tiny...

First tank WMO and engine quits!

Stampy, diesels will run fine on ether, as long as you spray a little at a time in them. I've done it on old equipment, because I was too lazy to bleed the fuel system after running out of fuel. Scott
