Looking for Rear curtain cam buckles

Before fancy spring loaded cam buckles there were good old D rings and webbing. Still the simplest solution. Not as fast to undo as cam buckles, but not by much. I am going to use D rings as fasterners on my HMMWV soft slant back to save cost. BDGR

Can the HMMWV cadillac valve be repaired?

I took mine apart and cleaned it up. It works fine now. It can be cleaned and reassembled. Bulldogger

    Waiting on euc

In my case an "EUC cleared" email was not sent, I happened to stumble across a notification nearly hidden on my account page. I complained but nothing really changed. As mentioned, pickup is the hard part anyway. The policy about having to remove the item promptly is about common vehicles...

    Engine dies whilst driving

Congratulations on joining the club. The first thing you need to do is complete service and a very thorough cleaning of fittings and connections. It doesn't matter how nice it looks the military probably hasn't done maintenance on it for 5 to 10 years. Even a rig you purchased from another...

Tiny House On A Steel Soldier…………….Expedition Notes.

Shellfish allergy? You mentioned free crab. Seems odd for two flare ups in an otherwise "clean" environment. Suspect something in the local air/pollen, sounds odd. Your family is in my thoughts. Bulldogger

    Cooling fan issue..... maybe?

Definitely replace the thermostat if you haven't. They are cheap and you can buy the Stant one at the auto parts store, just get the right temperature for your model HHMWV per the manual. Mine is a 215F model, if I recall correctly. If the Tstat doesn't change the performance of the cooling...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Started the frame for my soft top slant back. Plan to begin tack welding this afternoon, with more tomorrow evening and this weekend. I hope to begin pattern making for the canvas by Sunday. Time will tell. Bulldogger

    Virginia HMMWV Group

That weekend is right before a long business trip for me so I probably can't attend. My idler and pitman arms must still be replaced as well (gathering funds and part numbers). I expect I'll miss this event, but I appreciate this thread very much Jeff, as I'm one of the non-Facebook users here...

    New VA member

Welcome from Alexandria VA up north. Deuce prices have come down in recent years. A decently maintained machine can be had for circa $5,000. You need to have cash and be ready to move is all. This forum and Craigslist are worth watching. If you don't mind a project and ALX isn't too far, I...

Turn signal and brake light issues!

Agreed, try to adjust the switch attached to the pedal arm and see if that helps. Bulldogger

    Big Span Aircraft Models

RC is all well and good. Those who prefer a challenge build stick and tissue balsa. Here is a Cleveland Spitfire I made from scratch from plans out of a kit from 1942. Have the kit, complete, but contents too aged to be used. Hard to immediately tell, but the wingspan is a full 36" Bulldogger

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

You might check the wiring to the Cadillac valve, and trace the wires back to the harness and as far beyond as you can. It's essentially a big solenoid. Mine was malfunctioning, and was the source of my fan being clutched in 100%. Checking the wiring connections and continuity didn't...

    Soft Slant Back

I bought some steel 1/2" conduit and a mess of fittings to throw something together but haven't had time. After standing behind my HMMWV with the various fittings for half an hour I believe I have a picture in my mind of how to put together a soft slant back, with hatchback of course, but I...

You should come Rocky, no current MV necessary. [I wanted to spend more time with you. Please help me know the MOOG parts you are referring to. I want to beef mine up for next year. If I can be half as good as you I will be happy.] Jeffy777, it was great to meet you and Jeff Jr as well...

Graves Mountain Rally, Syria VA August 31-September 4, 2017

My son and I had a blast as expected. The weather was less than perfect a few days, but it sure made for some interesting trail rides. Nearly tore off my idler arm and ball joint, unfortunately. Managed to crank down enough on the castle nuts to get it good enough for asphalt surfaces and the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Broke mine, or nearly so. On Saturday at the Graves Mountain Rally. Particularly hard trail, first HMMWV up it was stuck for a while but we got him free. I tried to get up and put serious strain on my steering trying to jink back and forth for traction. We ended up having to back down, trail...
