Give me a few days. My hundred year old laptop struggles to operate my 1TB external hard drive with nearly a TB of pics to sort through. I'll work on it.
Too late! Somewhere in my archives, I have a pic of a truck like that while still in service. Humbly guessing it was the same as it wasn't done on a regular basis. Looks like a neat truck. I'm betting it's over width or darned close with the wheel spacers in the back.
I've towed 36,000# with my old M275A2 and after a trip around the block, changed my mind. Chassis is capable, multifuel, not so much. I did piggyback my M108 (just under 20,000#) from Lake City to West Palm Beach FL with the same M275A2. 55MPH was no problem,
Would this offer stand for others? I don't mind paying someone for work but when it comes to a trans, I'm not so trusty. I don't need one now but for the future.
I can tell you, it's uncomfortable at best. Had it happen twice, one I deserved. 20,000# deuce wrecker was my fault for not checking drums before my first test drive. Second was 35 MPH in a deuce tractor flat towing a cargo truck. Got I't down to a few MPH before the intersection, then bled out...
Trust me, I understand. Seems that whatever we need is on the opposite coast. If it does go to scrap and you have time, it might be.worth it to offer up the doors, lights and such for sale. You probably won't get rich but might really help someone out.
Boy, I would hope someone comes up with a trade. I hate to see a truck like that changed over but I certainly understand. I have an ambulance that I may do the same, can't seem to sell it.
PL roof flashing in a caulk tube works pretty good. It's paintable. Mike at OD Iron used it on all his restores, claims it's better that regular body cauld.
I don't tinstar, but it's the same as your front marker lights. Quarter turn thingy that takes 194 bulbs.
