I have no independent knowledge of filter testing but im steadfast in using Baldwin (when I can find them), Wix and Napa filter which are Wix as well. I've not used anything else in well over 20 years.
I found this out with my 108 repower. Side panels are different as well. Seems that the grill and hood get higher every series right up the the A3 where the front is higher than the back.
Actually, lockout hubs on a sprag (overrunning clutch) truck won't help. All those parts that lockout hubs reduce wear on will still be turning. The sprag will engage and turn everything in the front differential. Unless you remove the front driveshaft or swap to an air shift case, it will all...
Okay, couple of thoughts from a former M756A2 owner. PTO and driveline for the front winch is not hard to find. Rear PTO will be harder to find but not impossible. Finding the dedicated sprocket that goes on that PTO will be a challenge. My 756 was eaten up with rust as it came from Puerto...
I currently have 2 CUCVs and both have the factory exhaust system. Is there any way to calculate the cost difference between steel and stainless. I agree with oversizing.
No write-up but I did the SM465 swap a few years back. I didn't find it worth the effort but my 16 yr old loves driving it. Next is the NV4500. The swap isn't difficult at all.
I'm a big fan of the SM465 but not so much behind a 6.2. This truck does have 4.10 gears which hurt it a little. Now that the transfer case has grenaded, I may go ahead and install the NV4500 for a while.
I'm in Blairsville and actually, I can get up them but never in 4th and mostly have to use 2nd. Love the 6.2 on flat Earth but here in the mountains, not so much.
I have not....yet. I'm now facing replacing the grenaded transfer case. I have an NV4500 so I'm considering doing that too. When it's all done and I'm tired of it, I'll do a 700R4 swap. I didn't take pics when I did the SM465 swap but maybe I can with the 4500…
I agree with Dock. My SECM has the SM465 manual trans and 4.10 gears. Can't climb any of these hills in N GA. Wished I had kept the 4.56 stuff. A 700R4 swap wouldn't be much more money than a gear swap but have tons of benefits. The 3.06 low gear really helps the 6.2. I think it's the best...
Well, that was fun. I've had an eventful summer and frankly was almost going to cancel my rally trip. I'm so glad I was able to make it.
At the 11th hour I decided to bring my daily driver and it proved to be the right decision. My son drove the SECM Wednesday and it suffered a catastrophic...
