Talk to the people over at DB Engineering at 1-800-666-6473 or visit their website. Wondeful people to work with. When I was redoing the headlining in my M996A1 ambulance they took my drawings and cut them for me in 1" adhesive backed acoustic foam.
JD4044M, The technical manuals are written so the average soldier should be able to keep his HMMWV going. It's important to understand their intended purpose.
The TM9 2320-280-XX manuals are written specifically for the HMMWV series of vehicles
TM9 2320-280-10HR is the hand receipt manual...
If we all get together and petition Government Planet to make it mandatory that new buyers of HMMWVs have to sign off on having read the TM9-2320-280-10 manual prior to taking delivery of the vehicle? I know this sounds kinda stupid but imaging the questions that WON'T appear here if we do...
The fan in the HMMWV operates backwards from everything you expect and you need to keep this in mind when working on it. When the engine is cool there should be 24v power to the cadillac valve sending fluid pressure to the clutch disengaging it. It's when the engine reaches ~220 degrees the...
Gentlemen, if there's 24v to the starter solenoid then the GPC or TSU is doing it's job and chances are the solenoid itself is the issue. If your at home spray it with your hose to cool it down and if it starts then you'll know what you need to replace. Replacing it you definitely want to...
Like Barrack said, Joey's just finishing up what I started. Singing Kumbaya with the rest of the world and apologizing to everyone else. There was a time when I loved that old Pepsi commercial about teaching the world to sing. Now they can all just go "piss off" to use the Brit expression.
I recently changed out the front springs on my M996A1 because of sagging. I bought the replacements from Army Surplus Warehouse up in Idaho Falls and they were the ones commonly used for snow plows. They are a bit stiffer and sit about an inch lower so they might be just what you need for...
If you have a Michaels, Hobby Lobby or a JoAnn Fabrics near you they have stencil machines at fairly readonable prices that you can go look at to evaluate. I would think that most larger craft related places would also have them. If you find one you like you can find it on Amazon for quick...
It helps us to help you if you tell us what your driving, or trying to drive!
Both of these circuits pass thru the control box. The signal path is like this:
Battery (+)
Control box engine connector pin E
Control box body connector pin G
Run/Start switch in
Run/Start switch START...
I once jump started an Abrhams M1 tank with my HMMWV at an airshow where they'd run the turret til they couldn't start the turbine so that slave port will support as much current in and out as the batteries will handle and since it's connected directly to the batteries it's an ideal place to...
I see an awful lot of expensive options being thrown around here. Before I started racking up some major bills I think I'd try to start the truck and then check to see if there's crud in the fuel filter and how it runs. If there is junk in the filter you'll know the tank needs to get cleaned...
Please go back into the right side of the "HOME" bar and do a search for this topic (see mthe magnifying glass). There are already 100 postings about this that you can read and see if any of them answer your specific question. We just don't need another one. I realize this is an initial post...
Using your multimeter you can check for power on the female sockets in the body connector. Put the black lead in pin "E" and measure to the other pins for voltage. This schematic is in the back of TM9 2320 280-20-3.
