    Side marker lights

Glad to help! Kind of unusual for a major vendor to make this type of mistake. They should pull their stock and test all of them.

    Headlight Help

I'll admit that passing gas and reading schematics are two different worlds but if you mastered one of them you should be able to handle the other. There's some good videos on You Tube about using a multimeter and troubleshooting stuff. Have you considered the fact that both headlights may...

    Side marker lights

Next question especially on a HMMWV, where did you ground it? The hood on a hmmwv is plastic and plastic is not a conductor of electricity (generally). HMMWV wiring systems typically have a ground wire as a part of their wiring harness just for that reason. Make sure you tied the ground to...

    skinny grease gun tips

Jason, Axles are not the problem, it's those SOB's stuck up in the U-joints in the driveshafts. My standard grease fitting can't get up in there.

    Side marker lights

LED lights are diodes that only pass current in one direction unlike incandescent lights. If you've gotten the wires reversed they won't work.

Bobs ARMY/Navy Store in Mojave, CA. Is it Still Open?

Passed thru Mojave on the way home from the Parker ralley about 2 months ago and Bob's was still open then. Bob Kilby is one of the last of the breed. He and his brothers have been in the surplus business forever. He does have another yard there in Mojave out by the airport.

    Starting question?

If your engine temp sensor determines that the glow plugs aren't needed they won't come on and the truck will start. Sound familiar?

PLEASE, LOOK AT THE SCHEMATICS IN THE BACK OF YOUR -20-3 MANUAL. Every question answered here has been on those pages.

Coug, Have you tried using your standard tip on your U-joints yet?

Starter bolt backed out and fried the starter

If you have nothing coming out of the ignition switch on #14 it looks like it's time for a new switch. That's the signal that goes to the neutral start switch and from there to the control box. Without it it's the same as having the transmission in gear. Your not going to have the necessary...

Starter bolt backed out and fried the starter

Steve is right here. It's time for some good old fashioned troubleshooting. Did you disconnect the batteries when you replaced the control box? If you didn't you may have cooked another one. If you've already replaced the control box here's what you need to look at: Do you have 24 volts...

Starter bolt backed out and fried the starter

If everything is functioning properly when you insert the jumper into S & T you only want to leave it there for about the same amount of time you'd try to start the truck with the ignition switch. A few seconds. If the starter is functional it's going to spin up as soon as contact is made...

Where to find a complete, working RT-524

Keep in mind that the RT-246/524 weighs in at 62 pounds so shipping from a place near you will save you a bundle!

Starter bolt backed out and fried the starter

The STE-ICE connector is under the large round cover to the left of the shifter. With the ignition switch OFF , by momentarily shorting pins (S) and (T) together it will spin up the starter if it's good but the truck won't start. This completely bypasses the control box so if the starter...

Faint clicking ticking sound when stopping

U-joints will definitely make a clicking sound that changes with speed. You won't hear it accelerating or while running but when the load comed off the U-jont that's when you'll hear it. Creep around under the truck and shake all the driveshafts. If there's any motion at all that's your problem.

Civilian car cover for the 151?

Wondering which model civilian Jeep car cover fits the M151 the best?

Starter bolt backed out and fried the starter

Power runs directly from the batteries to the starter so the first thing you want to do is verify that you have 24 volts between the 2 large studs on the starter. If you do then using a small jumper wire you can connect pins (S) and (T) on the STE-ICE connector . This will actuate the solenoid...

6.5NA idles and revs fine no horsepower

You've had a transmission failure and the trans is stuck in limp mode. In other words it's not shifting beyond second gear and that's why it's so loud and won't go over 40 MPH. Search this forum for all the reasons this happens, there are several that all need to be checked out. Could be...
