    802 dies, no overload fault

Is there any surge when it starts happening? or it just drags down to full stall? I had an 803 with a sticky IP rack, but it would surge prior to stalling under load. Also had an 803 with a sticky IP, but it pretty much did the same thing. The 802's since they have half the cylinders may just...

    802 dies, no overload fault

I know it seems kind of stupid, but are you sure that you are on 240v, and not 208v 3 phase? Just because the switch is in the correct position doesn't mean that internally it's not stuck in 3 phase mode. Check the output on the 3rd phase lug with power generation and see if it is showing any...

    X DOORS

You ain't lying! Just between my 2 humvees there was a noticeable difference. I think I had 4 of the big clamps and tons of painters tape to do each one. I will say that after the first 2, the other 2 went quickly. Additionally, on my m1114 I had to add rivnuts for all of hinges. The m1151...

    MEP 803A Fix-up Thread

If you used a quart of oil in 20 minutes of run time, there is definitely something amiss! If it's not leaking out, and your coolant isn't black, then as you deduced, it's most likely in the ring set. Does anyone make an adapter for the glow plug hole to check compression? Justin

    X DOORS

I can 2nd Mattguy's experience. I bought 2 sets of doors from West Kentucky Surplus(on Mattguy's recommendation of quality). The quality is very good, and the 2 small issues I had(both latch related), Adam took care of quickly. I went with the 5/8 ballistic glass option and the outer armor. They...

MEP-002A Exhaust Question plus Machine Resurrection

Great job! on setting the gap, AND getting that blasted cover back on. Justin

MEP-002A Exhaust Question plus Machine Resurrection

I bought a green canvas one on amazon(10x12) and although it's obviously not fitted, it seems to be holding up ok over the past year. Still looks kind of "correct" for the trailer. The bungee cords on the other hand seem to fail at an alarming rate...

MEP-002A Exhaust Question plus Machine Resurrection

It's cool to see the old style starter on there! IIRC, I always have a light spark when connecting the batteries as well. That is unless I am not paying attention and ground out to the bracket, then it's a REALLY REALLY BIG spark. Justin

MEP-002A Exhaust Question plus Machine Resurrection

getting that cover on can be a bear. I think on my 003, I had to actually grind off some of the adjustment screw(shorten it) to get it to fit. For adjustment, I followed the TM and it was still slightly off, so I had to back and tweak it once or twice to make it perfect. Guyfang is right...

Getting there....This question is about the turbo on my M1152A1. It was mainly in storage until sold, 1076 miles.

The waste gate is just a load(pressure) based actuator IIRC. If the turbo is making pressure, the actuator can be moving. My guess is that the crack pressure is only around 3-4 psi, so cruising under any type of load whatsoever can initiate movement on the actuator/wastegate. If you're heading...

    MEP-805B Oil Pressure Issue

I would check the wiring to/from the oil pressure sending unit. Although the sending units ~can go bad, wiring has been the culprit in the ones I've messed with(not an 805B in particular though). Justin

Help I got MEP-itis... It all started with just one

You got me beat by a few years! We used to hit up Hippie Hollow from the lake side back in the day(and Devil's Cove). I haven't ever done it in the buff though(at least that I remember :ROFLMAO: ). I've been to plenty of Willie's get-togethers back in the day as well. So you're a Texan by...

Help I got MEP-itis... It all started with just one

I like the Justin-fied! yeah, I think I am good on the sets for now, you are one of my inspirations on the Genset quantity!:D If 2 is one, and 1 is none, by that rationale, 5 is just the right amount, and 9 is just the right amount! I am in Austin.... been here since '92, and been in Texas...

Help I got MEP-itis... It all started with just one

That sounds like a plan! I will be making the round trip, so I can go both routes! Oof, yeah, Fridays and Sundays are not fun days to be on the roads especially in a "fun" car. I averaged 28mpg in Switzerland, 25mpg in Austria, 24mpg in Italy, and less than 15mpg in Germany on this past trip...

Help I got MEP-itis... It all started with just one

still can! I just got back from Germany(taking delivery of a car), and I will be back in July to pick up another! :p I'll be driving right past you on this next trip(Leipzig to Stuttgart). and I won't mention the 3 Humvee's then.... Justin

Help I got MEP-itis... It all started with just one

ummmmm, my name is Justin, and I ~may have a problem. I think I am up to around 9 MEP's now. one 003 on trailer, 1 802 on trailer, 1 803 on trailer, 1 804 on trailer, 3 803's without a trailer, and 2 802's sans trailer. I needed backups for my backups for my backups! I think it's justified :)...

    MEP 803A Fix-up Thread

Doh!. That sucks man.... same crap rolled through Central Texas last night. High winds and tons of rain. Like you said, it looks mostly cosmetic although that's pretty close to the radiator fill and overflow tank. Time to buy another one for "parts" :p

    Air conditioning

And if it's already evacuated, then no, no risk. Careful with the drain line as the plastic it connects to can be rather brittle.

    Air conditioning

Do you have a set of gauges that you can record a brief video when it's happening? RWH is on point. It sounds like the pressure switch is tripping the compressor/fan. Overfilled can produce similar symptoms to underfilled, so like autonomy pointed out, a set of gauges can at least point you in...

    Air conditioning

Out of curiosity, does this happen with the Fan switch in both High and Low positions? Justin
