It looks like a coincidence of names, possibly picked on purpose by the Chinese company, but they only have 300 employees vs over 16,000 in the US Clarios.
However, the US Clarios has operations in China, started when they were JCI.
Thanks for the info.
Sorry, why do you think Clarios is Chinese? Here is their leadership team:

I do follow the companies that pose as American or being from other western or more "trusted" countries than China, when in fact are Chinese who are extremely good at...
Action, just to make sure I am reading the manuals correctly, please see the attached picture notes where I understand that the CDR valve should be:
Also, I presume it's OK to remove the two unattached rubber tubes #1 & #2 since I don't have a water fording system?
I am planning to order...
Thanks! Yes, I collected all manuals that mention the 1165A1 in one directory and search thru all of them. I think the newest one I found is from around 2007, which is not in front but further down inside the manual, several pages.
thanks again! I am at a party and still thinking about the...
If you don't mind, which are the exact manuals for the 2008+ M1165A1? I spent a lot of time going thru manuals that say are from 1997 and talk about parts that are not on my truck, like the so called Cadillac valve so I have to double check and triple check everything, read the whole forum and...
Got it! Yes, that bag is the silver cloth boot.
I found the grommet and attached the rubber tubing to the air restriction gauge, included in the picture below.
Should I connect the plastic air vent tubes together?
And there are a few tubes unaccounted fir, like the rubber hoses #1 & #2...
Happy Friday!
I started the engine several times just to make sure everything still works OK and it does, the engine sounds very good.
Only the first minute after starting there is some pulsing due to something drawing a lot of current (the voltmeter dips close to the Yellow range, but it is...
Thank you! For both, the diagram and for the manual number!
I have some very good news, it seems that the difficult start, unstable idle and stalling are fixed...indeed it seems that air it was getting into the fuel line at a key location, at the intake of the fuel pump.
I am sharing this for...
Yes, I understand that #9 doesn't go to the fuel pump (that's the 3/8' hose I replaced) and I thought that #9 is the other leaky 1/4" hose in the picture? Sorry, I don't mean to even sound like I disagree with you in any way, but just to understand how everything is connected and learning from...
Noted, that's a great procedure on the vent line!
I thought the leaky hose I am looking at is #9? Is a 1/4" and it looks like it comes up from the top, high enough that I cannot see or feel it's end (like in the diagram, close to the IP return?).
Is there another connector in between the #9...
I call it oil, but I realize that I think is fuel, but will clean it and check to know exactly, like you said.
My engine is covered in a lot of fine dust and some gunk even as I washed with just water a few times. Every time I move a hose or cable the fine dust is still there popping up. Would...
Thank you for the explanation, that helps a lot in understanding what to look for and I think I found the two return lines you describe marked #9 in the diagram below:
I want to absorb every detail about the truck as I usually get obsessed with getting things done right so I spend a lot of...
Hi, I am back in the trenches, hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!
I believe that I found the check valves, in front of the fuel tank, under rear passenger, like you said:
I also replaced the fuel filter and water separator and replaced the short 3/8" hose connected to the fuel pump, it...
I see what you mean, they are buried deep in there, I will find them, now I know where to look. I promised the kids to take a break from the truck to spend time with them and will be back working on it next weekend. The new tires are arriving next week too, I wanted to go with 40s and change...
You guys are awesome! I appreciate the help very much, and Action you read my mind about the fuel line, and when I am not sure about something I go full OCD so I researched the Autozone fuel line...it is NBR ( Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) rated SAE J30R7 which it shows recommended for diesel up...
I am about to install the fuel filter back, any recommendations on a good parts cleaner? (I am thinking of not introducing contamination) Or should I leave it alone, just draining the diesel from inside?
