    Tire Size Difference

I know of a truck with 11 XLs on the back for clearance and 14 XLs on front without causing a problem. You could always just measure around the middle of both tires to make sure they are close.

    1.5 Ton trailer question

I think around $150 to $200 from GL. The racks add value but not too much. They resell for $250 to $400 if you can find a buyer.

    1.5 Ton trailer question

Yours is the one air line hook up without the break away feature. It does not lock up when the air is removed. Just check the handbrakes and you should be fine.

    1.5 Ton trailer question

If the trailer has two glad hands then both should be hooked up. If air is lost to the emergency side then the brakes apply automatically. If this ever happens then you can open the drain on the air tank. As soon as all the air is gone from the tank the brakes will release. If you do not hook...

    Help with armor identification

This may be one of those test machines. The company is supposed to be testing a warning light system for the engine as I was told. They were testing sensors of some type so they are not testing the vehicle itself but using the vehicle to develop something else.

    Help with armor identification

I am concluding that it is a Canadian Grizzley but did the USMC ever use them? This one is owned by the USMC but may be a one of for testing purposes.

    starter issue

Are you sure you replaced the right relay under the dash? There are two or three if I remember correctly. If after taking the correct relay out you still have power going to the starter then you probably to have a short inside the starter solenoid. The solenoid on the GM also operates the bendix...

    m101 cover

6x8 is about right for an M101. Below is the data from the -10. I don't think the M105 is much larger than the M101. It just has a larger weight capacity and the side boards are higher. Cargo Body (New Style) (M101A2 and M101A3)...

    Help with armor identification

One of my cohorts stopped the pictured vehicle. It is still owned by the USMC but is a test vehicle of sorts for a civvy contractor in Ann Arbor. There was an opening on top for a turret of some sort but it was removed and plywood put over to cover the whole. It is much smaller than a styker and...

Overheating (I know its been posted before, Sorry!)

The thermostat should be a failsafe. I guess it could still fail closed but they are designed to fail in the open position instead of the closed. I know that most other thermostats fail in the closed position but they are starting to sell failsafe t stats for regular cars.

When wife says "Merry Christmas Honey", run....

She is pretty lucky. I have worked plenty of accidents and most fatalities are within a straight line from the line of force. It looked like the line of force when behind the driver's seat. I worked and accident one time in which the passengers side front and drivers side rear passengers were...

Electronics help with ipod listen on vic-1 intercom

Thanks for the input guys. It is too cold to work on it right now but I am trying to get my ducks in a row before spring. I will report back with the results. I also need to modify a 2298 to power my bose ANR headset.

Electronics help with ipod listen on vic-1 intercom

I found out that someone measured the impedance at the headphone jack on the ipod as being 5 ohm. I also found the attached plans for a FET impedance transformer. It looks like the input and output is variable by the values of a couple of the resistors. Anyone see any problem with this circuit...

Electronics help with ipod listen on vic-1 intercom

Question for any electronics guys out there. I read Bjorn's article in MVM about his adding CB audio to his vic-1 input to listen to the CB on through the intercom. He used an audio impedance transformer to connect the 8 ohm speaker output from the CB to the 600 ohm input of the vic-1. My...

    5 ton dump dilemma - Title/CDL

The link posted above is from the CDL manual. Do not use this as a reference. When they make the manuals they take legalize and bring it down to an easily understood language. Most assume that the person looking at the manual is a commercial operator in the first place. Look for the actual law...

    Brake thingies

Did you loose them? If the ones pictured are yours just clean them up on a wire wheel.
