That's the upgrade vent cap. The hex plug requires a large tubing loop overhanging the surge brake reservoir as a vent. Everyone of those versions I've seen are smashed flat. The mushroom cap vent works great, just make sure you have the OEM "O" ring.
It's an iteration of an M1102 trailer. It's a flat deck traiiler with raised rails down the center for large generator mounts. If USMC like mine, it was set up as a large mortar tube carrier. They are an awesome trailer with a 4200 pound GVWR . I'm setting mine up with a Lincoln Ranger 9...
Adjusting the voltage screw up and down with my Fluke meter monitoring cleared up similar issues I was having with my M936A1. It would intermittently peg into the red.
Tub, I have a M936A1 Red River rebuild with a boom motor that leaked since purchase. Do you have any pics of the R&R of the boom motor? I've ignored the leak as the R&R looked to be a major pita.....
Mos, yes I have two in the crate when you could still buy them from GL auctions for $75. The shipping from Ohio was a killer though. I have a M936A1 and M923A1 that I will mount them on. I could get the measurements next week for you however Swamp Donkey has his mounted and would be a tad easier...
Swamp, I've got the same MRAP NOS bumper as a future project for my M923A1. Any pics of how you fabricated brackets etc to install it are appreciated. Thanks brother
I've removed the strainer baskets on two of my trucks until I come up with a solution to replace or replate the baskets. The strainers are great to hang the fueling nozzle in while fueling.
Thanks for the post on the fuel strainers and caps Jeff. Same experience with my trucks. I'm going to explore powder coating or replating. It's the rotten diesel we're getting. The off gases when you open the tanks is toxic.
SS member fuzzytoaster has few of the newer style upgraded M1101/1102 NOS tongue jacks with the convertible wheel to platform landing leg, I just ordered one. Pretty cool
Yup, follow the link above. I bought my new crank handle, gears and pin from etrailer.com. It took about 10 minutes to R&R and grease up. Works perfectly, Bulldog parts.
