I’ve have used Gates for decades.
Belts, hoses and Thermostats.
The latter is made in China now.
Gates Belts and hoses I installed are still flawless. Almost three years now since install

Load test your battery’s before getting new ones.
I had a starter slowly die.
Thought it was battery’s at first. They load tested and charged up fine.
Doghead relay was one of the first things I did to truck.
Alternators were doing their job just fine.
Starting was getting slower each...
It failed open.
Just like the other ones.
Gates thermostats are made in China now.
Use whatever brand part you want.
I use GM and ACDelco.
Have had excellent luck with them.
Gates also, just not the thermostats.
I have a decent sized ranch.

Installed new ACDELCO 195* thermostat.
Had three Gates fail in as many months. Original Puck style.
Greased the front end and the pintle hitch.
Cleaned a lot of shell casings out from under seat.
A few less rattles at least.

It’s nothing more than a carriage bolt w/lock nut and steel bar stock with slightly curved ends.

Usually a neglected item and they will eventually corrode and leak.

A can of Seafoam will work wonders on a fuel system.
I pour a can in about once a month. Sooner if I drive more than usual.
Keeps fuel system happy.
Never any issues.
Keeping the tank topped off will prevent condensation inside also.
