I meant in the thread title so as you scroll thru the forum you see items, locations and prices without going into the ad thread. Like the one shown here. That's what a good title looks like in my world. No problem though, just a suggestion.
I found a photo of the mount I was referring to as the typical unarmored roof turret with an M2. I'm sure it's the same as the standard mount BLK is referring to as well.
If we're thinking of the same HMMWV mount typical of the unarmored roof all I can picture up there is 7.62 and 5.56 machine-guns. I know I've seen M2's and MK19's on HMMWVs, but they were armored. It was probably a different mount. Have you looked in HMMWV TM's? The mounts in HMMWVs are usually...
I think it's for a M3 Scout car. I believe some types of Halftracks had skate rails too. Probably the same mount. I think the one you have posted is found on some of the M113 family of APCs. On M66 ring mounts half of the ring rotates above the fixed half. The actual MG mount itself is fixed to...
I just stripped and repainted an aluminum mermite. It took 3 applications of the "aircraft stripper" stuff to get the paint off and even that didn't get it all. After much scrubbing with a green scratch pad I got about 95%, but getting it all out of the seams and edges was **** near impossible...
That's no APC (Armored Personnel Carrier). It's a MBT (Main Battle Tank). Looks like an M1A1. Wiki says that photo is of a Marine M1A1 in Fallujah 2004.
I'm at Fort Gordon. Shoot me a PM, I'll see what I can do. WM's words are wise. Perhaps you know already, but if you don't want to take a chance, Gl is not the place to buy.
Another FYI, the FGGA site manager won't let someone take a look at their truck after the auction is over unless you...
I paid about $150 for a pair on egay. The lenses were scratched to ****, but they cleaned up like new with a 3m polishing kit. I was amazed at how well the kit worked.
There probably isn't a TM on just the tank as it's a component of a system called a Tank and Pump Unit, or "TPU". I searched all the TPU -10 TM's and couldn't find a NSN match for a component tank with your NSN. Not uncommon as sometimes items from different manufacturers have different NSN's...
Why not something like this: Mounting Base, Flush Mount, Red - Jib Cranes - Hoist Winch and Rigging - 2ZU56 : Grainger Industrial Supply
This mount from grainger isn't cheap, but it'd probably be easy to build yourself. Cut a hole in your bed, make the plate span the stringers under the bed...
I think I know that bridge. Didn't much care for Balad so I tried to avoid going, but it seems like i when i did get over that way I always crossed it at night so I never got a picture.
Hard to beat that for a solid running 813 w/w. What's the scrap value these days? I'm NOT advocating scrapping it, but if you got it for less than scrap value...
Newer Army 5 tons use 1400's (M939A1/A2 series) or 395/85R20 (FMTV). I believe the singled USMC 809 5 tons used 1400s as well. Not sure what the solution is for 1600s.
Same "handholds" are on M809 5tons as well. I say they're lift handles like the rear corner handles on MB's and GPW's. You mean you guys don't manhandle your deuce or 5 tons out of mud holes when youre stuck?
