Whats the plan for the dummy fuel tank? Morph it into a toolbox? Clean water tank? Why not just plumb it in and use it as a fuel tank for extended range?
If there were only 5500 M35A3s produced during the A2 to A3 refit program, how many A4s even exist out there? Are the A4s included in the 5500 total M35A3 program numbers, or were more on top of that that came out 109A4s, etc? I've only just now seen the 109A4s coming out, I'll bet its a sure...
I just legally transported two restricted firearms and several thousand rounds of ammo through Canada with zero issues. The officer at the Beaver (ALCAN) border crossing was very courteous and professional. I also had to make a last minute change to my authorization to transport (ATT) before...
Not sure where you can find a serial on the frame, but an often overlooked spot for a registration number Army HMMWVs is on the body pillar just inside and forward of the drivers door. Its vertical on the pillar, and sometimes covered by paint, but usually easy to see as the letters and numbers...
What about replacing the ball coupler on the car hauler dolly with a lunette? Depending on the type of trailer you have it may be easier to mount the lunette ring to the trailer on-site vs modifying your truck, or the 818 and less $$ than buying a towbar and/or doing the mods to the vehicles...
I was a company executive officer and movement officer in 2005, and despite planing to deploy all of our equipment I was not allowed to take my A3's or 923's to A-stan. I don't remember why exactly, but I believe it was CENTCOM policy. Either there were enough in theater or we couldnt take any...
PM sent... looks like I'm a minute too late.
The antennas/bases arent considered classified, they're not even controlled items. I don't know what the demil code is, but I can tell you with certainty that SINCGARS antennas/bases are not controlled items. The second+ (RT-1523A/B/C/D/E/F)...
So what happened to your current engine? Is it not repairable or you just figure it's a good time for a swap? Just curious, either way I look forward to your write up of an engine swap. If it's half as detailed as your write up of the RV build it'll be a good read. Good luck!
 I rode the 312 lighting once, and heard plenty of stories about "ringing somebody up", but never like that. Base of the spine... try the temples next, or ears? Little jolt through the brain ought to do a body good.
Arrived last week. Dam* it's HOT.
Trip went well, got a place to live and unfortunately go back to work on Friday.
Chief, you guessed right, but oddly enough I didn't need to come down here this time. I was here for school in 2006 and that's the last time I had to come down. However, branch...
I just realized what you did here. It took me second.
I know spelling and grammar don't count on SS, but dam* jjrr, punctuation man! Punctuation!
Good luck with your build, and don't forget to post more pics!
Often a tarp like that is part of vehicle BII to be used for covering the cab/hatches/gun mounts, etc. I don't know about your tarp specifically, but check the -10HR for your 548. It will likely ID your tarp. I know Strykers have all kinds of tarps and covers as part of their BII, one of them...
What the P/N on the new flasher units? I never know if I'm looking at a new one, or an old one, and the parts dealers I've see that have them don't distinguish old from new.
After a tip from Recovry4x4 I read up on the GA rally. I didn't realize I was so close. Just over 60mi from Augusta. I just PCS'ed to Fort Gordon so I can't miss this! Hopefully I can get my 813 down from Michigan before the rally, if not my '10 Power Wagon will have to suffice. Hey, at least...
I've seen the fix in another thread on here. I might be wrong, it was in reference to 809 series trucks, but I think you need a newer style control box. I've been looking for one myself, but I don't know the difference in part numbers.
Flashing amber warning lights fit the mil look and will complement a VS17 nicely. They do help catch the eye of Joe and Sally Latte zooming around mostly oblivious to their surroundings.
