Oops, got your PM Ron.
Well what do you know, I have had part of the gas pedal linkage in my cargo bed all this time and i didn't even know it.! I thought the linkage in your pictures looked familiar and sure enough I have the part the bolts to the firewall and the long forked piece. What I...
Cool! That's the type of truck I have anyway, a GMC. Would you be willing to part with the entire gas pedal/linkage assembly? I had to fabricate one up for my GMC but I am not liking it too much and would love to have the original pedal setup back. Previous owner tossed it in the garbage. Please...
Can somebody take some pictures of their trucks accelerator pedal and linkage? believe the M35 series use the same type of pedal/linkage as the early gassers but don't know for sure.
I would assume payload, but the chances of me ever putting any more than even 3000lbs in the thing anytime in the next 10 years are probably nil. I have not had the truck weighed yet but with the 455 Olds powerplant and single tires i'd say it's a couple thousand less than the original factory...
Holy crap that required some thinking. I won't be ready for super singles anytime soon but when I do it will be as easy and swapping rubbers since I like breaking them down myself. I am just going to remove the 4 bad tires and run the rears "dish out". As somebody stated in another post...
No other options on the GMC's. Hubs cannot be flipped on them. From what little reading i've done It seems this is called running "dish out". If I can run them this way then that would enable me to save up the cash for some really nice Michelin super singles from Hundy in California. They fit on...
All I had was a little blow torch to do the heating. I too was surprised by the copper pipe, it has a sight bow to it but it's pretty darn thick, not the first time it's been used for leverage purposes. About $60 worth of copper.
While we're on the subject of wheels. Does anyone have any...
Holy moly. I was taking the wheels off the right side front tandem today and all of the budd thimbles came off fairly easily except for 1. I was using my 40" breaker bar with a 16" extension and it would NOT budge. Heated it up to around 550 degrees a couple times and that didn't do anything...
I am speechless! Fantastic work GM! And congrats on the nephew, my brother and sister in law just made a niece for me several months ago.
Would it be possible to scan the picture of that M211? I would love to hang a copy of it on my wall next to my other MV picture of two hot babes posing on a...
The bed weight is just shy of 2000lbs.
i don't think there was ever a wrecker GMC made in either countries. However, there were a few maintenance recovery trucks also known as "knucklebooms". They are extremely difficult to find...
Actually it looks like each thread was made only a minute or two apart. I really have no clue, my PC has been on the fritz with double posts and sending double PM's and emails. If a mod would delete one of them and move all the posts to the other that would be great!
BTW, the truck is an M211 with the older style CV joints. I think I may have used the wrong grease. And I bought 2 large tubs of the stuff.....:cookoo:
Probably a little too late to ask this now, but I picked up 2 large tubs of this particular grease from NAPA to repack all my bearings, knuckles and CV's. Used about 2.5lbs per knuckle. It was all NAPA had and at $12 a tub it was a good deal....I guess. Anyway, I am pretty sure it will do just...
