    Coolant Tank Keeps Cracking!

A quick search of American Custom Molding turns up nothing?? American Custom Rotomolding... looks on line to be a real quality company. Employee reviews, not so good. It is the internet, Soooooo. Thanks for the numbers 86humv. Close up view of the Amazon product linked above is a spitting...

    Coolant Tank Keeps Cracking!

Ok ...Back to tell the story. Ready? I too have had overflow tank issues. Being the guy that says "if it ain't broke don't fix it" or this time have some cash to throw at Mr. Humv so bought one of those new style overflow tanks. You see them all over for about a 100 bucks. Out of the box...

    Coolant Tank Keeps Cracking!

Watch out for cheap imported tanks. Usually they are a white ish plastic. OEM have a light brown - mustard color. Make sure the hoses have slack as to not transmit engine vibrations to the tank fittings. Will post my story later on my tank replacement. No more crappy parts in the Humv, CAMO

How the fan/cadillac valve/time delay modules work

This should be at the top of the 'sticky" notes for new owners or anyone fussing with the cooling system. My little note is don't get confused with dash temp gauge or its sender. Separate system. Know where / how your kickdown switch works into the TDM. Here's a very good video of how it...

    Anti-theft measures?

IMO, Not a fan of mounting switches on the tunnel or horizontal surfaces. When Mr. HumV takes a bath... things can get real wet. Rub a dub, CAMO

    Hmmwv fan clutch leak

I don't understand anything... it just works. Never gave it a second though. Put it together and drive it. How about you tell me how your going to get fluid all the way to the end of the clutch piston area without some air. Sent you a link to some fancy bleeder valve set up. Give it a try...

I am wanting to buy my first Humvee I guess from gov planet!

All GOOD advice. Research, read, review... Think it thru and good luck. My two cents is HMMWV is like a boat... One has to love the water and owning all things that go with the boat. HMMWV going to have to love working on all things HMMWV and owning the road, CAMO I want to type in red...

    Hmmwv fan clutch leak

Well, I read on here after all the work of changing a clutch out... it had a leak. For me, (and I test everything) better on the bench to discover the problem than in the truck IMO. :driver: Again I don't think it matters fluid or air. Any ATF fluid from the Cadillac valve is going to...

I am wanting to buy my first Humvee I guess from gov planet!

HMMWV is ALL about the waiting, wrangling, wrestling, weaseling, working on or out problems with no warranty. Could be something to worry about. Turn those "W's" over and spell out Money. Totally workable. All for the fun of it, CAMO

    Hmmwv fan clutch leak

I would check it with air and one could drip some ATF down the fitting to find its way to the seals while on the bench. Pressurize it with rubber tip nozzle tight to fittings. Wear safety glasses. Easy on the release with ATF in there. Looking / thinking to purge the line? IMO if clutch...

    Hmmwv fan clutch leak

Another "What were they thinking" moment with the HumV. QC definitely better than messing with the fitting when time to change a belt. One never forgets the taste of dirt, dust mixed with ATF....LOL My two cents on PS purging. In a hurry and If it foams up, give it a break. Let it settle...

Fan Clutch Quick Disconnect "Reconnect" Tool

Another "What were they thinking" moment with the HumV. QC definitely better than messing with the fitting when time to change a belt. One never forgets the taste of ATF....LOL My two cents on PS purging. In a hurry and If it foams up, give it a break. Let it settle out (ten minutes or more...

    Body removal

When all the connections are removed and up and off comes the frame the rear section is a bit floppy and should be supported. It wants to fold right behind the rear doors... see the splice and gap. Strap or 2x4 contraption. Flipping and a flopping, CAMO

    Turn signal gremlin(s) on HMMWV

Just had another Humv in the shop for parts....NICE . One might see two filaments in the bulb and are not hi or low. It's redundancy in case one filament blows. I am guessing you had the markers on when testing too. I snag the bulbs when at the military junk yard. Cheap. Google up or...

    Unknown Coolant Leak Location

Leak found in the radiator shroud area? My guess is a soldered tank or tube connection. Doesn't take much to be a PITB to find those kind of leaks. See it, smell it... can't find it, CAMO
