    Fan Solenoid replacement

Not the easiest to get at and remove. It could be really gummed up... but I would bet a donut it can be saved in truck. Have to get air on it to assist the process. Have you applied air @ 150 PSI and then work on it? The guys with the fan that runs a lot or all the time IMO is not working...

    Fan Solenoid replacement

Teflon tape, YES. Did one read the trouble shooting steps? Not seeing any hands going up. LOL My steps are the way I would go at it. Measure the Cadillac vavle solenoid coil resistance. Should be around 65 Ohms. +/- at the plug. Also check for any resistance each lead to ground. Should...

    Fan Solenoid replacement

I got to say "The 2X4 in the fan test is just plain crazy" said that and another word that can't be written LOL. That's why I painted a stripe to clearly see crutch action. Once one gets a feel for the goings on (proper operation) with the system it will make more sense between lock up and...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Not the first time for the busted alternator stud / manifold bolt. If a 60 Amp unit, there is a upgraded mod to the lower - rear alternator support that goes down to the engine block. Ties into engine casting boss. Thicker strap and angle down to the block provides a much better support...

    M998 rough ride

Military truck plus no load. Every rig I have owned. M38A1's, M37, M1008, M998 all ride like a buck board wagon. M1009 was like cloud. Nice on or off the road. Fast, quite, nimble handling, lockable and park-able LOL, best mileage, easy on the pocket book and to work on. Should have kept it...

    Fan Solenoid replacement

OK... last call to the fan guys. Then I am blowing this thread off. LOL Don't know what one has. All rusted up, bent busted, went swimming in the ocean... whatever. This "tap and a wack" may work to free up the clutch AND you maybe just be that unlucky dude. To put it all together, look...

    Breton industries leaky top

Always a way to work around the commercial / tax thing. Don't have a soft top... so my two cents would be to keep the water, snow, etc off the top. Maybe "pitch a tent" to get the center higher. Didn't papakb have a fix like that? Bear to the left, under the stars, CAMO

    Fan Solenoid replacement

Don't be wacking the front. Can also get to it from the bottom. Rotate and work from different directions. the tap a bit harder. Needs a good shock. It's all in the stick. Soft wood and your just making splinters. Hard wood gets to the business. (did I just say that) Blunt metal bar...

    Fan Solenoid replacement

Leave shroud in place. Might want to take take a study at the TM and then the truck. This is not that hard. Air pressure, a hammer, a stick. I could have done it in the time of writing this. Stick you nose it there and go at it, CAMO

Humvee shock absorber and spring options?

Would be inserting to see where the final setting ends up? Piggy be riding smooth now, CAMO
  20. Milcommoguy

    Fan Solenoid replacement

Don't forget to apply the 150 PSI air at the hose going to the fan shroud. I use a coupling to the hose to air supply. Give it a blast of air...tap away at the hub ring, Loosen belts to rotate blade. Find a new spot and tap away. Spray some mechanic in a can with the tip of nozzle pipe bent...
