    Bobbing my M35A3

Wow, nice work Steve. That's the best adaptation of M105 springs I've seen. Very clean. Why did you use build V100 instead of using new aftermarket shafts and locker?

40ft shipping container from Bend OR to CA

Have a 40ft shipping container that I need to have hauled from Bend Oregon down to Morgan Hill CA. It'll be (mostly) empty. Muscle-carcass and some misc stuff, maybe 5000lbs total inside. Just wanted to post here before contracting a freight company.

    936 spade pockets

Have an M936A2 and it's got those spade pockets on it. Can take pics for you next time I'm over at the yard.

turning an M936A2 wrecker into something even more useful

Depends on the vehicle, but we've registered some as historical vehicles and others as motorhomes.

M923 with roll cage and tall hardtop

My brother was doing some research that indicated there were somewhere around 500 of these trucks made, and another 150 cabs that never got installed on trucks.

M931A2 with M109 Shop Van Body

There's a 931 with an M109 box listed for sale locally for $19,000.

turning an M936A2 wrecker into something even more useful

Trailer convertor dollies are useful, sure, but there are some limitations and compromises there too. Was actually thinking that it might be cool to turn an M103/5-type trailer into a convertor dolly that I could then mount beds and boxes on, in addition to the odd occasion when I might actually...

    M931 Behind-the-Cab-Box Onto M925(A2)?

No. The spare tire carriers on the tractors are different than the cargo trucks.

    M109 box on M932A2

No, haven't mounted the box yet. Still figuring out how I want to tackle that. Leaning towards something like this.

    Beadlocks for 16.00's

Dunno, but I've been thinking that I might want to cut-down the run-flats or replace them with something like these for 20" wheels. Haven't decided whether I'm gonna run 395 or 14.00 tires, but 395's with runflats on 20-bolt aluminum wheels are heavy.

    Medium tow bar feet ?

The fit is a lot sloppier though, at the feet. Anybody know how strong the 3/4 & 1" pins are? Tried contacting one of the manufacturers to ask them directly, but they did not respond. Wondering if 3/4" feet and pins are safe to tow something bigger, like deuce-size, with.

    Beadlocks for 16.00's

Just picked up a set of MRAP wheels and haven't taken them apart yet, but the runflats should also function as beadlocks, right?

    California registration experience.

Makes perfect sense to me. We've got a bunch of 5-tons and we're turning a couple of them into motorhomes too. No plans to bob any of them right now, but can understand why you might wanna do that. Good luck with your project.

    California registration experience.

There are lots of reasons to drop an axle, but why is that a part of your plan? You know that you don't have to remove an axle to register it as a motorhome, right?

    Wrecker wishlist of mods

Think boxes behind the front bumper is a fantastic idea.

    What are M105's going for?

Who is Chris and how might I reach him?

    Wrecker wishlist of mods

Was just relating what I read. Have not done my own homework, but am wondering, have they got the numbers wrong? What are the front axles actually rated for, and how much weight is actually on them?

How stuck have you gotten your Deuce PICS OR IT DIDNT HAPPEN

Wow. That is stuck. Wonder how many snatch-blocks it would have taken to get you out under your own power if you'd had a PTO-driven winch. And hooked-up to what? Looks like the only way to make it out of something like that is to not get into it.

Axle wrap with a bobbed deuce?

Thanks for explaining, and I see what you're saying now. It's true that a traction bar like we're talking about will affect the pinion-angle, but I've never considered that a bad thing. Should actually do more to maintain a desirable pinion-angle as leafsprings tend to do weird things when...

turning an M936A2 wrecker into something even more useful

Having the ability to swap beds and boxes around between trucks and trailers is an essential part of the plan. That gotta happen. Not 100% committed to the 5th wheel tractor plates, but thought it was brilliant when I first saw someone else do it, and haven't come up with any better ideas...
