    11r22.5

I have not done that mod, but I have heard of it. There was a few old Ford F-600's and international busses that used that wheel with a bolt pattern to fit the deuce. They are rare however. But if you find some, you would have a lot more tire options, and lower price than the 20's. And the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You and me both...my 3rd car garage was supposed to be my shop...then my hobbies got bigger...if you know what I mean! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You can probably ask 10 different, grumpy, underpaid DMV clerks the same questions and get 10 different answers. I asked this question to a good former client of mine, who is a DOT officer in CA. The way the law is written, and it only comes down to one, 3-letter word..."and". And realistically...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

No CDL needed in CA for a deuce. Unless you're using it for commercial purposes, such as having a business logo on the door, etc. unless you have full air brakes and under 26001 lbs you're fine. I could daily drive mine if I wanted to with a regular license. Most cops wave at me and give me...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Winfred, Do you have a build thread going for this project? Be interesting to see it, especially with your expenses so far on the job it seems a worthwhile read! And it's about 102 degrees here today and I got to mow the lawn...ugh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

WOW thats probably the best paint I've ever seen on a deuce!!! Did you buy it straight from the factory? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

I'm a hack of all trades! Used to work doing carpentry, then for a non-destructive testing firm, that's when I really polished up my welding since I had access to cool stuff like X-ray, mag particle, UT, dye penetrant, and a host of other stuff to check my work! Now I'm a CAD teacher, they...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

I do have to say, if I didn't have such great write-ups to research, read over and over again, and procure parts beforehand, it would have never happened as fast as it did. I think I spent about 4-5 total 10hr days on it, more or less. The rebuild wasn't too bad. I think the adaptor plate on...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

Beautiful work! I like that you can just pop open the cover and replace the relay with an off the shelf part! Awesome!!! And something I can do late at night while family in the house are sleep and I'm in my garage with several moderate quality beers! You had me Chuckling a bit on this one...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

Another thing I did while I was there was replace a section of the copper airline off the compressor. It had been leaking since I got it due to a frame chafe, and previous owners or the military tried to solder a booger on there to stop it. I had to re-route it around the steering box and ensure...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

Well, darn it! Well, I've always hated the location of it regardless and now I can easily change it by simply opening the side hood door like when I check my remote brake reservoir. Maybe I'll have to design a more robust one with my electronics colleagues! Sure someone's been there already...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

Thank you! LOL...yeah I had 395's I know your pain. It would take a come a long to turn the wheel at a dead stop!!! The G177s definitely helped, and the hub lockouts, but I still wanted true PS for when I daily drive it to work through town. Hope to take it on some off road camping trips when...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

While waiting for my belts and cooling system parts to show up, since it was right there I did some PM on my IP. I replaced a few seals and hoses to it that looked old, as getting to them would be difficult later in without removing the entire IP or PS box. I also bypassed the FDC and deleted...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

Thank you, Those are modified MRAP jumpseats with 5 point harnesses similar to a kids carseat. I modded the stock spring base and the passenger bench to accept 3 seats wide. I will end up selling the center one for a shorter seat as it blocks my rear window.

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

Forgot to mention, before I put the system back together, I did the Gringeltaube method of grinding down the spring brackets 5/32" to correct the caster on the front axle. I also replaced my u-bolts with a custom made set (local spring shop) and added 3 leaves to level the truck out more. It...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

So now to the box rebuild, since my kit came in. Sure enough, same kit, just different manufacturers. It was good insurance to know I have another on the shelf just in case. The Ross manual I got online (60 pages, PDF) gave a VERY straightforward disassembly and assembly and testing...

HF54 power steering for my M35A2

Day 4-5 So now that the outside of the truck was done, and the completed steering column was waiting there, looking lonely, I decided to install some of the interior components. I installed the upper column I completed the previous day in my kitchen LOL. I also put together all the original...
