My question ...... can a switch be placed that can control this?? Where and how would you splice in the 24V to disengage the solenoid/fan?
The fan engages via the cadillac solenoid when it does NOT get 24V ....... by default if there is a fault/failure in sensor, the lack of 24V engages the...
I repurposed an AC compressor on a land rover that went to a tank. Was easy to set up but no AC. You had to oil it every once in a while too.
As others pointed out, was faster than most air compressors but still underpowered for impact wrenches. I've also had the oasis compressors (similar...
Steven I think that's true if you only disconnect the low battery ground. If you disconnect BOTH high and low battery ground it all goes dead.
I can say that was true for me when the battery interconnect was still connected, ie cable between high and low battery. As soon as I added that to...
Steven what are your thoughts on the noise? Just lubricate at interface?
Is it possible it’s too tight or too loose?
Don’t understand how that goes together as the TMs I’m looking at show simple single but and key.
Yes. And had I know what I know now I would have had you do it lol!
I’m happy overall right now but lots of things done poorly and have been slowly going through it. In the end paying for it again. For anyone reading this getting it done right.
Wow. Thanks for picking up on that. I'm going through the truck bits at a time. Didn't pick up on that and it explains a leak I noticed coming from connection at fan shroud.
Has anyone used AN connectors at these locations? Or is worm gear clamp adequate??
It shuts down the TCM (aftermarket US Shift) which does throw it in limp mode.
I thought throwing the disconnect would shut off the fuel solenoid and thereby shut down the engine. But the generator must keep the solenoid alive.
I'm posting link to video.
HMMWV Generator Pulley Noise
On start up no noise. Generator pulley spins and generator charges batteries fine.
On shutdown it makes noise and inner part of pulley/nut free spins for a few seconds and then stops.
This can't be normal?!?! How do I fix this??
Ok here are the final pictures.
I installed a Noco dual plug for the Victron battery chargers. These chargers are really nice as they are completely waterproof as the electronics are potted in epoxy.
I have two of the chargers in the box plugged into the Noco plug and they are connected to...
ha!. i want one. these were responsible for what we terms is a 'chauffer's fracture'..........painful wrist condition when that crank pops back on your wrist and breaks it.
So here is what I have in summary based on everyone's input........
* Shut off solenoid (electric shut off = ESO) is reliable and rare to fail.
* Solenoid operates with the cold advance solenoid within the housing and is cooled with diesel fuel in a low pressure of 3-4 psi compared to 350...
BTW I appreciate everyone indulging me.
I understand I may be only one interested in this and I apologize if this is annoying.
I have learned a lot that otherwise I don't think I could have on my own.
