Just wanted to confirm the way the HMMWV shuts down is by de-energizing the fuel shut off solenoid on the injection pump??
I'm assuming this as there are no other electric parts other than glow plugs and starter on startup. But once started there is nothing else electrical keeping it going...
Juan here is link to more pics of everything in kit.

When current gets pulled in reverse.
I might be using wrong terms. I’ve tried reading about this and have hard time pulling much up on google. Might be using wrong search terms.
Adding to what we were discussing. For example, rear battery ground disconnected then someone turns on...
Agree. That’s perfect setup I believe. Sourcing cables to do it now.
Will update with pics when done.
will do
Here is a pic of the kit. Comes with the cables and switch obviously. You could easily do thiswith same parts for 1/4 the price of formal kit.
I will scan the install manual to...
Agree.
These are dual switches.
if you disconnect the inter battery cable there will be no way for forward battery to find ground.
the reason to use that as disconnect is it’s SLL local, ie easier to run and hookup cables to switch.
otherwise hard to extend VR cable.
I hooked it all up tonight. Main ground is on switch. Did not add the interbattery cable to the switch or the 12V or 14V alternator to the switch.
Interestingly the lights can still go on and some of the gauges click on. I did NOT try to cycle plugs or try to start for fear of blowing...
That’s the way they are set up from factory at least for the TCM 12V.
I have a 200amp alternator with 14V feed. My understanding is this will keep it in balance.
Is this wrong?
What is this for? I found what it was in TM.
It sits behind the gauges.
What happens if I remove it?
It wasn’t plugged unto anything even though connectors there.
Here are some pics of the two switches I have now. The one with the black handle is the one that comes in military kit. The one with the red handle I got from a friend. They are both 2 pole and 500amp per pole. They are made by same swiss company (Kissling). High quality...
Why would the military not do it this way, ie use the ground as the cutoff rather than the positive feed?
Have to think they put more thought into this than I did LOL.
I have a military cutoff switch kit and it's instructions.
It essentially cuts off the positive feed to the busbar from the front battery and the feed to (from) the voltage regulator and 12V circuit (TCM/circuit breaker) using a 4 pole/2 switch box.
My concern is cutting off the positive feed...
That is some good advice. I think a lot of us are builders of better mouse traps, but sometimes the mouse trap we build ends up trapping ourselves. Lol.
Can it be done?
I have a nato slave plug at front of battery box. I'm wondering if I used ground cables to go to and from the slave plug and essentially have the slave plug complete the 'circuit' whether or not this would work.
I would need to modify the plug cap/cover so it would complete...
Just to close the loop on this.......I was able to test the plugs while 'in' the block. All of them were bad. Only two came out easily.
I bought the plug extractor but had to 'grind' it open a bit as my glow plugs were cheap chinese aftermarket. When you compare them to legit plugs you can...
