Most people who don't want to wear a seat belt are motivated by resentment that use is mandatory. They then justify not wearing one by saying its safer not to have one.
It isn't. The odds of being randomly flung clear without a seatbelt are far less than the odds of being ejected and squished...
Not something that you really want to consider roadside.
And at $20/tire, as cheap as I am.... this is something that I pay to have the tire place do.
If forced to, I remove the outer half of the wheel, then flip it over and mash on the tire with a forklift. Seating them is well within the...
For changing a tire on the road what i want to have along -
1) a couple of jacks, 20ton preferred. 8ton will do.
2) geared lug wrench.
3) cribbing.
4) breaker bar with cheater pipe and socket.
You can get by on less. But this is what I want to have.
Where you'll run into problems is...
l like the military issue geared lug wrench. No jerking. Just an extreme amount of torque and off they go.
The trucks don't make enough air to run air tools.
Electrics are generally too puny to rely on them. And can fail.
Carry two....not just one and cribbing.
Consider - you have to start off low enough to get under a flat 16.00. And you have to end up high enough to fit an inflated 16.00. Most jacks wont have enough travel to do this.
And you can't add cribbing once the truck is on the jack.
A spray can of ether for $5 from the truck stop will tell you if you have fuel problems or something else. You can sit in the driver's seat with the door open and spray it over your left shoulder at the intake stack while cranking.
Regarding fuel cut off- pulling the cable kills it by...
Did it fire on ether?
Zip tie the solenoid in the run position or get rid of it entirely...
Edit - I missed the last hour's worth of posts when i first made this one. Strange.
Anyway, solenoid not required to be present. Causes no problems running without it and just using the kill cable.
